Guest guest
namo narayana Repsected Sir, From what I have heard, that is a horn of a bull which has a small hole at the tip, this horn is usually plated in metal. It is used for abhiseghams using water or milk to the Siva lingam. I donot know if that particular vessel in the link is made up of real horn or if it is made up of metal only. It is typically used in north India and I have not seen it being used in the south. Sincerely, Kamlesh--- On Wed, 10/7/09, tpmods <no_reply > wrote: tpmods <no_reply > Help to identify a vessel used in Rudrabhisheka Date: Wednesday, October 7, 2009, 1:50 PM What is it called and from where one can get it?Is it available online,if so kindly advise.Attaching image link here.http://img203. imageshack. us/i/dsc01576x. jpg/
Guest guest
Thank you so much Pandit ji and Kamlesh ji for helping me. , " panditarjun2004 " <panditarjun2004 wrote: > > dear shivbhakt > om namo bhagawate rudraya > > this is called singhi in hindi which means the horn. this is used mostly or only in north india at almost all shiv temples. if a native visit any pooja item selling store anywhere in north india and ask for a singhi, he would get it. generally it is of two types, brass and copper and cost hardly one hundred rupees or so. > > with best wishes and blessings > pandit arjun > www.rudraksharemedy.com > > , tpmods <no_reply@> wrote: > > > > What is it called and from where one can get it?Is it available online,if so kindly advise. > > Attaching image link here. > > http://img203.imageshack.us/i/dsc01576x.jpg/ > > >
