Guest guest
From the desk of Veeraswamy KrishnarajOne esteemed member ( jaldhar) says Vivekananda is a Kayastha. Does it matter who he is by caste and what he is. What he says and does are more important. Gandhi of non-Brahmanical caste is the father of the nation. Strangely Gandhi believes in natal castes. Let me dissect this word, 'Kayastha' Kaya means body in Sanskrit and Tamil ( HTML clipboardகாயம௠= KAyam). What it means is a Kayastha originated from the body of god, not from the mouth or the limbs. Kayasthas are traditionally record keepers.Shree Chitraguptjee (and hence the Kayastha's) were accorded a dual-caste status, namely Kshatriya (Warrior) and Brahmin (The Learned). --Wikipedia--"Kayastha"Though Vivekananda originated from the body of the Lord, he had a robust mind and soul and he is a living and breathing Hindu judging from his immortal words and writings. Some of the Alvars belonged to Sudra and Dalit castes. They glorified Vishnu in their poems (Divyaprabhandam) and thus possessed Brahman Knowledge. According to Siva, he who possesses Brahman knowledge (God realization and not learning Vedas by rote) is a Brahmana. Others are not, irrespective of their natal caste. Caste is not being but BECOMING (a Brahmana). Veeraswamy Krishnaraj
