The cross is a Roman torture device. Jesus (assuming he even existed and

is not a composite of other " messiahs " of the time) was executed by the

local Roman governor for political subversion. This has nothing to do

with the trishul which symbolizes Shiva Bhagavans shaktis of iccha, kriya,

and jnana.

The Magen David ( " Shield of David " ) represents the Jewish Gods protection

of that ancient Israeli king and hence the Jewish people. A Damaru is a

drum from which Shiva Bhagavan manifested the Sanskrit letters. What

does a shield have to do with a drum?

> 3.The crescent on his head is like the crescent of the Moslems.

It is ironic in light of your obsession with (non-existent) problems in

the Hindu calendars that you don't realize that the crescent moon is

important in Islam because their calendar is so backward they did not have

the ability to predict lunar cycles. A mullah had to actually physically

observe the newly waxing moon in order to mark the beginning of a month.

Needless to say Shiva bhagavans wearing of the moon as a hair ornament has

nothing to do with calendars.

The Ganga is a river. What does that have to do with a flower?

Uh marriage with Ganga? Where are you getting that from?

The sun has nothing to do with Christian theology or practice.

Said by whom? The kaaba is said to be built by Ibrahim according to

Muslims. Hubal and Alaat two of the principal deities worshipped in

Mecca by the Arabs are lunar but others were not and in any case their

worship was abolished by Islam.

The Garden of Eden is said in all Jewish, Christian, and Muslim traditions

to be a location on Earth.

No they do not. Bharatavarsha is the Indian subcontinent which is

considerably larger than a garden.

No they are not. Some yatras like kumbha mela are based on jyotish

considerations but by no means all of them.

What you have done is to make up some unfounded nonsense from your own

imagination. Not only have you distorted the beliefs of Hinduism, you

have distorted the beliefs of many other religions as well. Is this

tolerance? If some Westerners are taking a sincere interest in Shiva

Bhagavan, is this how you intend to repay them? With lies?

True respect for all faiths is achieved by taking seriously what they say.

To mindlessly assert they are all the same is disrespectful. If some

Americans are now replacing " cafeteria Christianity " with " cafeteria

Hinduism " it is nothing to celebrate.

Well said Shree Jaldhar ji,Hinduism by no means comparable to other religions as it is a way of life. It is not built upon a person, book or doctrine. The truths perceived by various sages are carried forward for ages through Smarana or Hearing.

You know why Smarana?Because if it is written, there are high chances that intrusion may take place, as it did in other holy books. If one recites the slokha right from the start, it flows like a mighty river and an intrusion cannot take place. IMHO.

One can interpret anything with anything. But reasons and interpretations are not explanations. There are foolish people who compare the Shiva Linga with a phallus. It has been rubbished by none other than the great Swami Vivekananda by quoting the Vedas.

PS: I have heard that the black stone in Kabba is nothing but a Shiva Linga. Legend has it that King Vikramaditya ruled over that region. Again, I don't have any proof to back this up, but I won't interpret something.

Do we all know that the Taj Mahal is actually Tejo Mahalaya, a Shiva Temple? Please see stephen-knapp.com or search Google.PranaamRamesh
