HARI OM.Man`s individuality causes in him the illusion that he is isolated, unconnected, unrelated and not responsible to the rest of the Society. 'I' and 'Mine' become the centre of our existence, rather than the Absolute. Individuality cuts the thread that connects us to the true Centre within. Separation appears total. This individuality also causes in us the delusion that the acquired ego, the shadow 'I' , is the real 'I' and not the Inner Divine core, which now becomes obscured. The shadow 'I' takes all the credit for its achievements and blames

others for misery and hardship it suffers.

Like a thick layer of coating of dust covering a bulb and obscuring the light within, the egoistic individuality cloaks the spark of Divine Universality within us, separating us from the rest of the Universality. Like a pot separating air inside from the outer air, our ego, sitting in the centre, separates our individuality from the Inner Divinity on the one hand, and the people on the other, although they belong to the same continuous unbroken whole. Break the pot, then there is no inner and outer. It is all one. When we manage to break the pot of our ego, we can perceive clearly that the Inner Divinity and the divinity of the people around us are one and the same. The ego originates from the Universal Consciouness and merges back into it.

Once our ego is dissolved, our relationships will be governed not by expediency or prejudice or emotion, but by justice and concern. We will find new skills in areas of daily life, including disciplining children, tackling worker`s problems, dealings with colleagues and competitors, interacting with friends and relatives and so on. This will dramatically alter our behaviour and its Karmic consequences. Understanding this tenet is fundamental to Spirituality. As long as ego is present, all behaviour, motivation, action and goals spring from its arrogance . Its traits of selfishness ,self-worth, desires, attachment, feelings of 'I' and 'Mine', hatred, fear, jealousy, ambition, anxiety, greed, and crueltyprevail and dominate.
