Guest guest
Dear Dr.Satish Prakash,Pranams and Hari OM,I take note of your valueable comments. Pl. do not applaud me. Even though it is flattering to get applauded, I do not want my ego to be inflated/boosted. I would request you to dump/criticize me. That will help in deflating my ego.I note that you are sad at my 'not distinguishing between jivatma and Paramatma and then between these two and prakriti'. Doctor, I follow Advaita philosophy according to which there is only Atma and nothing else( Atma va idam eva agra aaseet na asti kinchana, Atmaiva idam sarvam, Isavasyam idam sarvam, Sarvam khalu idam Brahma, Purusha evedagum sarvam, Narayana evedagum sarvam, Vaasudevas sarvamiti...... Maya Tatam idam sarvam......,Poornamadah poornamidam........ etc. etc. are the Vedic/Bhagawad Gita statements). To my understanding, Paramatma and jivatma are one and the same. The very same Paramatma is called Jivatma(Dehi) when it takes a upadhi i.e.,body. Prakriti is matter. It is the lower material aspect of the Supreme. Brahman/Atma/ Truth/Consciouness Reality etc. etc. is the life principle in jiva. The Universe evolves from the Supreme and finally dissolves into Brahman/Atman. The Supreme and Imperishable is Brahman. Its manifestation in the individual body is Adhyatma, as stated by Lord Krishna in verse 3 of Bhagawad Gita. Thus Paramatma and jivatma are one and the same. For followers of Dwaita philosophy, Jivatma is different from Paramatma.Punar NamaskaramsG.BalasubramanianDr. Satish Prakash <satishprakashUSBrahmins ; ; Aryakrishti-Vedic-Dharma ; Bhagavataseva Bagavataseva <BhagavataSeva >; aryasamajonline Sent: Thursday, June 25, 2009 8:31:33 AM[Aryakrishti Vedic Dharma] GOD, SOUL AND MATTER Balasubramanianji, Namaste I applaud you for your explanations on what happens to Soul after death. Some day, you should write a more detailed explanation - It would be helpful. The only sad thing is that you fail to dintinguish between Jeevatmaa and Paramatmaa, and then between these two and Prakriti. This Traita [Triadism] is a clear teaching in Vedas, Upanishads and Bhagavd Gita. "The person who listens about or gets knowledge about soul with full interest and who studies it deeply and continuosly, is able to see the minute soul separate from the body. Since the soul is full of happiness, one becomes happy by listening about it, reading about and studying about soul. The figure of "OM" is the visible form of the soul and is best and great. One who understands this secret gets everything he desires. The soul which is a purest form of knowledge is never born(eternel) nor it dies anytime. It is not produced from any other thing. Its original form is never changed, it is never produced nor it takes birth anytime. It is eternel(not bound by time and sace) and omnipresent. It can not be destroyed, its form is never changed and it never dies even if the body or anything in which it stays is dead. The soul is immovable, yet it can reach to any remote place. Who else other than Self can understand the soulwhich is in the form of bliss and also beyond the bliss. The soul has no body, still it stays in the bodies, occupies the perishable matters but the soul is imperishable. The wise men study and understand this 'soul' and get themselves liberated from worldly worries. People who delve deep in making logical definitions of 'soul' neither understand it nor or able to explain it to the people. "When the soul, identified with the body and dwelling in it, is torn away from the body,or is freed from it, what then remains? This is verily That(Atman). No mortal ever lives by Prana, which goes up,nor by Apana which goes down. Men live by something different,on which the Prana and Apana depend. Now what happens to the Atman after meeting death? Some jeevas enter the womb to be embodied as organic beings and some go into non-organic matter -- according to their work (Karma or action) and according to their knowledge. The non-dual Atman, dwelling in all beings, becomes different according to whatever It enters. And It exists also without. The Atman, though living inside the body, is not contaminated by the misery of the world, being outside it." The individual soul changes the body at death and transmigrates to another body (DEHANTARAPRAPTHIH as Lord Krishna puts it in the second chapter of Geetha) . It is sure to have another body in the next birth. Such changes of body depend upon the work done(Karma) in the previous births. Noble souls will get either spiritual bodies in next life or at least life in heavenly bodies for superior enjoyment of material existence. The souls is not slain when the body is slain(NA HANYATE HANYAMANE SAREERE as the Lord states in the Geetha). The soul does not take birth. but beause the soul takes on a body the body takes its birth. The soul does not take birth in the new body nor the soul dies there. Anything which has birth has also death. And because the soul has no birth, it therefore has no past, present or future. He is eternal, ever-existing and primeval. In other words, there is no trace of history of its coming into being. G.Balasubramanian < .. ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ __ http://mail.
