Guest guest
Aum Namah Shivaya Dear Paresh ji, Acharya Sankara did not propound Saivism. His school of thought or philosophy was non-dualism or Advaita. The essence of everything in the universe (including plants, trees, animals, humans, etc) is one. That essence is Atman which is same as Brahman. This is a 2 line description of Advaita. I don't know about Kashmir Shaivism . Shailendra , " Pareshkumar R. Trivedi " <pareshtri wrote: > > > Oum Namah Shivay, > > What is the Difference between Shankracharya Shaivism and Kashmiri Shaivism ? > > Why Shankaracharya's not aggresive like Arya Samaj in late 40's... > > Appreciate clear explanation! > > With regards, > > Parehs Trivedi >
Guest guest
Namaste, Yes I did not imply that Advaita has no place for Ishvara. As you said, Acharya Sankara wrote beautiful stotras in praise of all the major deities. His Soundaryalahiri is considered a Tantric treatise also. regards, Shailendra , Tiruvarur Chandrasekaran <tiruvarur wrote: > > Sankaracharya was known as SHANMATHASTHAPAKA meaning he re establishes SIX > types of worship of GOD out of so many forms of other worships followed in > INDIA by > Hindus.Ganesa (GAANAPATHYAM)worship from Maharashtra, Shakthi > (SHAAKTHAM)worship from Bengal, Karthik(KAUMARAM)from South, SIVA(SAIVAM) > from North, Vishnu(Vaishnavam)from North,Sun > (Souram)from North. The rest like Kapalikas etc was to be ignored. > Though he has composed many slogas on all the Gods and Godesses, at one > stage he speaks of NO GOD theory. > Now it should be clear that Sankaracharya is loved by one and all and not > only by Saivas.
