Warriors and Spirituality

I am unsure if all are destined for a life of peace as not all beings of this world are peaceful. Indeed even the Lord as Bhairava cut off one of the heads of Brahma thus committing Brahmacide. For this he was caused to do much penance to relieve him of his sin though he was a manifestation of the Lord and only once he reached the Holy City of Varanasi was he liberated from his kapala vow. In the realms of Karma, one should also take into account the notion of Dharma and remember that many great warriors have also been ferverent devotees of the Lord.The Kshatriyan Caste of Vedic India could be both fierce warriors, great philosophers and spiritual adherents. If one looks to the Bhagavad Gita and

Prince Arjuna then it can be understood that it is a great sin for a warrior to vaccilate his Dharma no matter how much personal pain it may cause him because it is his duty to protect the innocent masses from those that would harm them.This is a matter that often enters into my thoughts as I am a man of great physical stature, martial skill and have the heart of a warrior who cannot simply stand by and watch injustice without seeking to fight against it. I see violence as a last resort and much prefer peace but if such is needed then does one who is of such a nature shun it or embrace it by commiting a minor trangression for the cause of greater good. How does one balance these things as the Lord is both a god of great peace and divine wrath. Personally I find it a rather perplexing question and a bit of a paradox in and of itself...so if any may shed light upon these things then it would be most appreciated and perhaps shall illuminate the

path for those that may be called to it...

As Pundit ji said Lord Shiva's grace will be on those who show fire in the belly

to face injustice, standup to the Truth and follow Dharama.

 

Every soul that takes life on earth has this moral obligation irrespective of

physical size, strength, knowledge and accomplishments (both in this life and

past ones). This is the Test that God expects a soul to pass through to reach

higher levels.

 

I believe that Voilence is not an option for a spiritual person unless it is his

dharma (which is debatable), Great souls like Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King

etc showed that we can win cruel hearts with love and non-voilence, this shows

there are ways to protest and fight through the god's way. Great yogis and souls

like Jesus, Sai Baba, etc have shown with truth, honesty, forgivenss and love

greater impact can be done.

! The secret of fighting is to ALWAYS get permission by meditating and praying

prior to entering a fight. In the case where no time is available ALWAYS make

sure it is in defence of your self or another.
