Guruh sAkShAt param brahma " In fact guru is your own j~nAna Sakti. He is the samaShti of all the universe from where you have started learning what is what? We consider guru as the highest. Nothing is higher than the guru, including any god with any name or any form. The word 'student' is not any equivelent for " SiShya " , which means the remaining part of guru. The SiShya is part and parcel of 'guru'.
