What is our individual soul/spirit? and from where did it originate? How was it

created? I know it goes from body to body and lifetime to lifetime, but what is

it?

It starts from the universe, it is the whole universe which is revealed when

evolved to its fullness. It was never created, it was always there. How can the

universe be created but by itself. We fall from there on earth and make ourselves

a body and change the body from one type to the other and in the end we want to

make no more body and we are upon ourselves, one with the universe our true Self

or soul or spirit. We have realised Brahmah.

What is soul etc.:

The question you ask is the basis of all religions. It is the question asked by Nachiketa to Yama. The story of the conversation between Nachiketa and his teacher Yama is the teaching of the Kathopanishad. If you ask this question, then it means you have already started your journey towards knowledge! It cannot be finished off in a email reply! To find a suitable Guru to reply is itself a great task.

Wish you a happy and wise journey!
