Guest guest
Bandhuvar Dilipji, Sadar Pranam. I am grateful for ur postings on Tirukkural. For a long time I had a desire to know about this wonderful book which is much revered by all Tamilians. I had read about it in 'Bunch of Thoughts' of Shri Guruji of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh many many years ago. This is a wonderful book as I see from ur postings. Please keep it up. Many many thanks for the same. It was great to learn that Dharama and 'Aram' in Tamil means the same. I have not come across any other word in any language which is equivalent to Dharama. (Although my knowledge of world languages is rather limited; but expert linguists have also expressed the same thought.) I did not have good luck to read ur other potings on Neetisara , Arthasastra or Vidura niti. I request you to please mail me the same. Many thanks. My email address is: meranicv May Lord bless you with all the best in life for this wonderful work of Seva. Guest guest
Hi, Let me introduce myself Balaji T, joined recently in this community. and this is my first mail to all you friends, thought of sharing my knowledge... "ARAM" in Tamil is equalent to "Virtue" in english and "Dharma" in hindi... if you ask what is Aram to Avaiyar, she says.."service / offering", and this sounds very high level and she was not specific, but if u ask what is aram to thirivalluar, he says ...."Virtue is living in such a way that one does not fall into these four- Envy, anger, greed and unsavory speech.".verse 35 sorry, if i made error... Guest guest
I completely agree with you. It is sad that the Karunanidhi government is planning to remove Tirukkural's lessons from the school curriculum. On 9/25/08, Chetan Merani <meranicv wrote: Bandhuvar Dilipji, Sadar Pranam.
