This village is situated at about 5 kms from Singaperumal koil (western side). Singaperumal koil lies on G.S.T from Chennai to Chingleput. This temple was built during the reign of Vikrama Chola. This temple is more than 850 years old.HISTORY OF THIS TEMPLEThe Devas and Rishis went to ‘Kailash’ to witness the marriage of Lord Shiva, due to which, the Northern side of the Earth sank. To level this , Lord Shiva sent sage Agasthiya to the Southern side of the Earth. Sage Agasthiya came to the Southern side of Earth and installed 108 Lingas and performed pooja. Lord Thulaseeswarar is one of the 108 Lingas. Sage Agasthiyar has performed abishekam to the Lord Thulaseeswarar by erecting a Thadagam and performed poojas with Konnai malai and thulasithalam. That day was Puratasi Powrnami. Lord Thulaseeswarar was pleased by the poojas performed by Sage Agasthiyar and blessed him in the form Ardhanardeswarar. Lord Thulaseeswarar is of Ardhanardeswarar lingam. This temple was in a dipliated condition and minor repairs were done and daily pooja has been started. The idols of other deities such as Lord Ganesh, Shanmugar, Ambal and Navagrahas are ready for installation. Gopuram has to be constructed and other idols have to be installed. A sabha has been formed and registered. The work can be completed with the help of contributions from pious people. We appeal to you and expect your co-operation for the completion of work.
