I have seen many pundits advising this on time to time basis that one

can Re-charge his mala by again touching it to Shivlinga on montly

basis,I fully disagree with this method as used mala which has turned

Black from Brown has a wear and tear,It also contains dusts, dirt

etc..being lying on our neck area and touching our chest.

Never ever try to Recharge your mala following the advise of such

gurus.Shivlinga is a symbol of Lord Shiva and one must observe full

descipline by NOT offering our used mala to touch holy Shivlinga

anytime with above intention, better we recharge ourselves rather than

recharing the mala.

Any good priest will simply will never allow you to do this-(Yes one

should go to Shivalaya and must offer mala near Shivlinga but this is

the only time one should do this),no idea about other priests who will

accept your USED mala with a smile on his place and ......

Message is clear-Don't follow above method EVER in your life.If you

have done this unknowingly just go to the same temple and offer

rudrabhisheka by your own hands.

Thanks and regards.

I don't see any needs to recharge Rudraksha as it is a gift by

almightly himself but if one still wants to do than go to Shiva

temple and request priest to give you some flowers or bilwa patras

offered to Shiva, now during your pooja put these flowers or bilwa

patras on top of your mala.

It is always better to re-energies ourselves rather than mala and I

stick to it.Hope this helps.
