Guest guest
Sai Baba's miracles shake us from complacency. They reveal hispersonal love, omniscience, and attention to us. Wonderful signsannounce Baba's divine nature and mission. But the miracles are onlygranted to those people who can benefit by them. They are notintended to impress or attract everyone. It is difficult for the casual observer to know who may deserve thesesigns. The spectator sees only the outward man or woman and does notknow the effort they have given in this life or even past lives. Onlythe Lord knows their devotion. A miracle may indicate to therecipient the closeness of that person's bond to Sai baba. It may bea sign to others of the faith and sincerity of the recipient. But ifa seeker does not receive such signs, the seeker may still receiveSai's grace and protection. "I shall tell you why I give these rings, talismans, rosaries, etc.It is to signalize the bond between me and those to whom they aregiven. When calamity befalls them, the article comes to me in a flashand returms in a flash, taking from me the remedial grace ofprotection. That grace is available to all who call me in any name orform, not merely to those who wear these gifts. Love is the bond thatwins grace" Baba There may be good reasons why a miracle would not be appropriate. Forexample, in the case of a miracle which heals an illness, the lessonsof the illness must first be learned or the difficulty will onlyrepeat itself. The divine sign must be suited specifically to therecipient. These Sai leelas (divine signs) are not idle acts intendedto amaze the crowds. They hold great spiritual significance to theone they are intended for, often showing that person just how near andcaring God is. Sai baba's miracles help us to recognize him. A startling experienceis often required to shake us from our sleep. After we have learnedof Baba's immeasurable love and wisdom, the miracle appear trivial. But to catch the attention of one caught in the grasp of the materialworld, they are indispensable. Only when we recognize the Lord willwe heed his message. "I am determined to correct you only after informing you of mycredentials. That is why I am now and then announcing my nature bymeans of miracles, that is, acts which are beyond human capacity andhuman understanding. Not that I am anxious to show off my powers. Theobject is to draw you closer to me, to cement your hearts to me" Baba The world is God's leela, or play. No one can limit and define whatis possible for the Lord. God's powers are beyond our comprehension. The miracles of Sai are now appearing around the globe. In virtuallyevery country his presence is becoming known. A spiritual revolutionof unparalleled proportions is taking hold. Yet Swami restrainspublicity so that spiritual aspirants may still travel to see andexperience him. In this age of rapid communication, it is a wonderthat the name of Sai is not known by all Leela are occurring throughout India in tens of millions of homes.Swami keeps his hand down so that publicity about the leelas will notspread. The rulers of the country know, but they keep it quiet. Ifthe facts were to have publicity, millions would coverage on Swami. The government would surround him with security guards, and devoteescould not get close to him. The time is not ready. Sai baba's powers are tools for restoring truth, order and love inthe world. Sai baba holdd the power to manifest objects or make hispresence known at great distances. He frequently creates sacred ash(vibhuti) or rings or lockets for his devotees. On several occasionsmSwami has cured sickness or "takenover" the illness of a devotee. SaiBaba has even restored life to the dead. Indeed, his powers arebeyond the limits of time and space. They are natural to him; theyare not intended to attract or impress the curious. "You may infer from what you call my miracles that I am causing themto attract and attach you to me and me alone. They are not intendedto demonstrate or publicize; they are merely spontaneous andconcomitant proofs of divine majesty" Baba Although Swami's powers seem capable of accomplishing anything, hedoes not make "quick fixes" for problems. People ask, "If Swami canchange anything, then why does he not end hunger and sickness and allthe evils of the world?" swami says that if he were to change suchthings, they would only again revert to the way they were. He statesthat the minds and hearts of people need to be changed; only whenindividuals grow more loving and caring will the world change.Swami's way is slow and lasting. He limits his actions to conform toproper self imposed restrictions. "Since swami has taken a body, he has imposed certain properlimitations on himself. Swami has created idols of gold, and couldjust as easily create a mountain of gold. But then the Governmentwould surround him and let nobody through"To be continuedBest Regards,K.s.Vishwanathan.Tel No: 022-28738192
