Guest guest
Hello, I just did join this group. My English is not so well, because English is not my first language. Reading some of the files, for example the file Shiva mantras, understanding the files seems to be a little bit difficult for me, now, in the beginning. I am searching for a mantra to begin with, perhaps a mantra that helps me to feel a deeper connection to Lord Shiva. I do not know which mantra would be best?Meanwhile I did begin with the mantra “Om Namah Shivaya Shivaya Namah Om” (what is the meaning of this mantra in English?). Knowing this mantra before joining this group, I would be very happy if I could practice with a second mantra, now. Is there any easy mantra to begin with? There is very much information here … I do not know which file is best to begin reading with? I would be very happy, if you could give me any advice with that. Yiara Jetzt Mails schnell in einem Vorschaufenster überfliegen. Dies und viel mehr bietet das neue Mail.

Either you go down of this message box, you will find captions namely " message " " files " , so you just go to the caption files & you will find lot of Mantras including Rudra ( Namakam ) & ( Chamakam ), Shivastotra & lot of other Mantras, which are are chanted by Expert Pandits in Classical Music style & which has a very healing effect on body as well as mind. Second method is to go to Home Page of Om Namah Shivay Group & just click on files. From there you can also download all these Mantras & also can advise all your friends & well wishers to take joy of offering prayers by chanting these Mantras through Computer or whatever gadget you have available. Guest guest
I was not online for one or to weeks, so my answer is a little bit late. Reading the Mantra, I feel that there is much energy contained within. I think, the meaning of Maha in English is Great? And the meaning of Deva is God? Did I get this right? For me it is helpful to know a little bit about the meaning of the Mantras, because then I can feel more of Lord Shivas energy, while practicing. I did download the Namakam file right after joining the group two or three weeks ago, but at this time I did not understand about the meaning of the Namakam. Your answer is very helpful to me. Thank you very much. --- sdehadrai <no_reply > schrieb: > > Om Namah Shivay > Har Har Har Mahadev > > To you querry, it is suggested that listening of > Mantra-Rudra > Namakam) would be best for healing effects of > internal peace, > happiness & feeling joyous. Guest guest
Namaste yierra, To your querry, it is clarified that Mantra means method of praise of God to seek his blessing for self & family as well as whole world chanted in sanskrit ( ancient indian langauge ). These mantras are chanted to please him to shower his blessing on the devotee, who chants such mantras. Do not try to go behind this scientifically, but always perform these rituals with scant faith on god. Those who takes these things scientifically nevery gets any fruits, please keep in mind. So also, Lord Shiva loves white flowers & bilwa patra i.e. a three leafs of certain tree, these are offered along with Haldi ( Termeric Powder ), Kumkum & milk to Lord Shiva. This is method of workship of Shiva. While performing these ritual, please play Rudra ( Namakam ) on CD Player or on other device. You definately get fruits if your offer pooja by this method. Guest guest
Mantra yoga or Mantra chanting has been scientifically explained and understood, even it is more spiritual and based on faith. understanding the concept in scientific terms helps us understand god and his divine world. the concept of mantra or any spiritual concept is very abstract, trying to understand them in different aspects as scientific, meta physical etc helps to understand god. sdehadrai <no_reply > wrote: Namaste yierra,To your querry, it is clarified that Mantra means method of praise of God to seek his blessing for self & family as well as whole world chanted in sanskrit ( ancient indian langauge ). Guest guest
Namaste Yierra, You have querried two question one was about Maha Dev & another was about Mantra. Your second question has already been replied, but the first question inadvertantly left to be replied, which is now replied. You are right that Maha means great & Dev means God. So Mahadeva means Lord Shiva, who is worshipped in the form of Linga i.e. Pindi, made from black stone or white granite. If you have this Pindi in your home, if not then you can procure it through internet, as these are many websites which offer Shiva Pindi & other worship materials & they will despatch to your home by post. I am citing few names of Lord Shiva, by which is called & worshiped. These are as follows : Neelakantha, Shankar, Kapileshwar, Gangadhar, Nageshwar, and many more which will be given in few days. Since you have shown interest in Lord Shiva & expressed scant faith him, I felt it right to advise you about the Lord Shiva. Now, since you are procuring the the Pindi through Internet, it is advised that alway place the originating side of the Pindi in north direction ( diection which is supposed to be good & lucky ) for the Worshippers. While starting workshipping, first of all before actual worshipping the devotee should take a bath & should wear cotton clothes, no leather belt or leather things should be possessed or touched during the workship. Place the Pindi in north direction in some plate of steel or or silver as you can( i.e.mouth of Pindi ),then offer water on Pindi for 10 to 15 seconds, then offer milk i.e.for 10 seconds, then dry the Pindi with clean cloth piece of cotton( this clothe & again place it in plate, then offer little sandle paste on the Pindi with last second finger, then offer Termeric Powder ( i.e.Haladi ) & Kumkum ( which can also be procured through internet )at the place where sandle paste is offered, so that Haldi & Kumkum will be pasted to Pindi & place some white or other flowes on Pindi. Then ignite the sandlewood sticks & move these ignited sandlewood sticks three times on pindi & place it safely nearby the Pindi & then start medidation of Lord Shiva by chanting Om Namah Shivay for minimum five minutes. This is the method of Worship of Lord Shiva. You can play C.D.Player & play Rudra C.D.during this Pooja. This is method of worship of Lord Shiva. If you like, then you can perform workship ( i.e. Pooja ) by this way. Satish Dehadrai, > Thank you very much for telling me about Pindi, and > for citing some names of Lord Shiva, Satish > Dehadrai. Guest guest
Dear Mr. Sastry You are really having lot of wisdom to give so much to the group. Mantra Chanting Chanting of mantra was a concept of the Vedic saints that includes mantras as one of the main forms of worship, whose end is seen as salvation. Basically, Mantra Japa means repeating the mantra. Reciting Mantra has become an established feature of the Hindu practices. Mantra Japa involves repetition of mantra again and again, usually 108 times completes one cycle. Due to this, the rosary (mala) used for mantra japa has 108 beads in it. It is believed that through mantra japa, the devotee attains concentration and focus on the chosen deity or the main idea of the mantra. One can attain peace of mind quickly by chanting mantra. With prolong and constant practice, the inherent power of the Mantra (Mantra-Shakti) will be awakened, which will fill your very existence with the Divinity of the Mantra. Practical Aids to Japa · Select any Mantra and repeat it from 108 to 1,080 times daily (one to ten malas). · Take a bath or wash your hands, feet, face and mouth before sitting for Japa in the morning. · Sit facing east or north during the practice. This enhances the effectiveness of the Japa. · Sit on a rug to conserve body-electricity. Sit in a separate meditation room or in any suitable place, such as a temple, on a river bank or under a banyan or peepul tree. · Maintain a steady pose. You can sit in Padmasana, Siddhasana or Sukhasana. Resolve to complete a certain minimum number of malas before leaving your seat. · Use a rosary of 108 beads. Do not allow the rosary to hang below the navel. The rosary (mala) must not be visible to you or to others, so cover it properly. Use the middle finger and the thumb of the right to roll the beads. The use of the index finger is not allowed. Do not cross the meru (main bead) while rolling the beads. · Do mental Japa for sometime without a rosary or mala. When the mind wanders, do the Japa aloud, or whisper the Mantra for some time and come back to mental Japa again as soon as possible. · Do not chant mantra in haste. Do it slowly with feeling, concentration of mind and devotion. · Try to associate the chant with the rhythm of the breath and meditate in the form of your Deity. Keep a picture or idol of the Deity in front of you. Think of the meaning of the Mantra while repeating it. · Observe silence and avoid distractions, calls and engagements. It is important not to leave the place at once after the Japa is over and mix with everyone or get into worldly activity. This keeps the spiritual vibrations intact. · One can leave the place after a dedicated prostration, with a feeling that everything belongs to that almighty. The Puja, Sadhana, Meditation and Japa etc, any kind of prayers offered to the Almighty must be done with a sincere heart. The Supreme Being answers all the questions and doubts of the devotee, sooner or later. One must understand that the ultimate purpose of life is the realization of divine.
