Guest guest Posted November 30, 2007 Report Share Posted November 30, 2007 Hi Bhupendra Well maybe it isn't a Shivalinga, but it looks like a Shivalinga, and I was in India for a short visit, and it looks like the Shivalinga in the temple there, only smaller; however, perhaps I'm mistaken. I also have a parad Shivalinga with a base made by Pandit Deenanath Sharma, so perhaps it doesn't matter whether the black stone is really a Shivalinga or not. It's just that for the last two years we have had severe winters, and I don't like to leave it outside in such bad weather. I left it out last winter at the base of the acacia tree, and, because the winter was severe and windy, the acacia almost died. What if it really is a Shivalinga? Wouldn't it be better inside where it is warmer and sheltered? If it be not a Shivalinga, and I bring it in, what is the harm--I will just have a stone inside for the winter. At first I kept it in the house, but a friend from Fiji said that when they find Shivalingas in Fiji they keep them outside, so I put it outside under an acacia tree (a species of Sami tree, but not a true Sami, as the nursery didn't have a true Sami, only a related species). I kept it outside all last winter, but the winter was so severe that the acacia almost died. Now I think that I want to bring both the Shivalinga and the acacia tree (it is small now, as it started to grow again from a shoot from the bottom of the stem), into the house for the winter. Should I keep them outside or bring them in? Does the black Shivalinga have anything to do with Shani?
