Only conflict is that there is more than one panchangam in use. Amazing that this is so, but it seems to be the same with all things relating to Indian esoteric traditions. JAI AMMA! Surya Siddhantam has not been updated from more than 1500 years with observation, where as Drika Sidhdhanta is precise uses JPL or other scientific methods to calculate luminaries. Other difference, Festivals, Ekadasi and Pradosha: Some people believes that one ghatika before sunset and two after sunset. Some believes two before sunset and two after sunset. However, Dharmasindhu quotes, three ghatika after sunset. Ekadasi nirnay: Two main sects: Vaishanvas and Smarthas: Vaishnava requires shuddha ekadashi and smartha accept viddha as well. Festivals: There are some :Krishna Janmashtami is main, Tulasi Kalyanam is another. Calendric Systems: Solar and LuniSolar: Certain regins like Tamilnadu, Kerala, Bengal, Aasam, and Punjab have solar calendar. which makes their months different.
