Guest guest
dear shivbhakts om namo bhagawate rudraya the most auspicious month of kartik (kartika masam) for shiv bhakts would start the day after diwali i.e. from 10th november in india and ends on 9th december. in this holy kartik month, shivbhakts do daily abhishekam to lord shiva and observe fast on the mondays. on the kartika poornima day shivbhakts bathe in a holy river or in the sea. Women devotees lit lamps on the holy rivers on the poornima day. it is in this kartik month that lord Vishnu worshipped lord shiva with 1000 lotuses and when fell short of one lotus, he plucked his eye and offered to lord shiva after which lord shiva gave the sudarshana charka as a boon to Vishnu. those devotees who cannot visit temples or observe fast due to job related exigencies, can chant the om namah shivaya mantra as many times as they can whenever time permitting. with best wishes and blessings pandit arjun www.rudraksharemedy.com
