Guest guest
Dear Kanishk, There are four ways you can get to concentration: (1) Chant the mantra out loud - this works pretty well in keeping distraction down (2) Chant the mantra and think of its meaning at the same time - this is the best way - when you are contemplating its meaning, there is no way you can be thinking of anything else. Besides, mantras are greatly effective only when you understand what they mean. (3) You can do a mantra puja - imagine that a linga puja is being performed as you chant (4) Perform a linga puja yourself! Don't ask me how - I don't know. But other learned members here may be able to help. Guest guest
Dear kanishk, While reciting the shata rudram you can follow the one told by our friend vijay how ever there is one more way you can concentrate that is While chanting you need to maintain up and downs this is not that easy. Concentrate on these areas while chanting this will engage your mind on rudram than any thing else. That is the reason why our age old tradition says that you need to sit in calm place (preferabley near place of worship) lamp a light and do a bath before doing the chanting. All this remove at least 80% our troubles rest 20% can be achieved once you concentrate on the where you need to raise voice and where you need the pronounce in lower voice. There is a tag associated with rudram that you need to sincerely follow the up's and downs of the mantra else it will not yield good results.
