Guest guest
Om Namah Sivaya In Sukshma Panchakshara (Sivaya Namah), ‘Namah’ means ‘Prostration’. ‘Sivaya Namah’ means ‘Prostration unto Lord Siva’. The Jiva is the servant of Lord Siva from the Deha-Drishti. ‘Namah’ represents Jivatman. ‘Siva’ represents Paramatman. ‘Aya’ denotes ‘Aikyam’ or identity of Jivatman and Paramatman. Hence ‘Sivaya Namah’ is a Mahavakya, like ‘Tat Tvam Asi’ which signifies the identity between the individual and the supreme soul. Therefore it can be chanted by True devotees of Lord Siva and Self-Realised souls. This mantra has the power to transform Jiva to Siva. When we are free from bondages we become Sivam. Further Rishi Tirumular, a direct disciple of Lord Siva who wrote Tirumantiram says: Verse 903: Sivaya Nama Purifies and Transforms JivaChant "Sivaya Nama;"Copper turns into gold; The Chit Para there exists,Turns copper into goldChant "Srim" and "Krim;"Copper turns into gold; The Holy Temple alchemisesCopper into gold. Verse 905: Chant Sivaya Nama and Behold DanceThis the way to chant:Sivaya Nama, Sivaya Nama;If you chant that way,No more birth will be;With Lord's Grace,You shall behold the Eternal Dance; And copper (that is Jiva) turns into gold (that is Siva). Verse 906: Chant Sivaya Nama in SilenceThis mantra is golden;Chant it not loud,Just say it;Your body glows red,If you take it in slow,As you breath in,Your body becomes gold; And in time,Shall you behold the Golden Feet of Lord. Verse 907: Chant Sivaya Nama and Behold Golden FeetYou shall behold the Golden FeetYou shall have children noble; In the name of that Golden Feet I say,The copper that is Jiva,Will become gold that is Siva; And as you behold the Golden Feet,You too shall His Form assume;Center the mantra in your thoughts,And witness the goodly Dance of Golden Feet. Verse 908: Chant Sivaya Nama and Attain SiddhisYou may easy transmigrate into any body; The goodly Sakti will your companion be;If you chant the mantra,The fiery snake of Pasa (bondage) will leave you; That mantra is the secret of the Holy Dance,Chant it unceasing. Verse 909: Chant Sivaya Nama and Enjoy Bliss of SivaIt is the Sukshma (Subtle) mantra;Chant it eight thousand times; You shall see the (Sushumna) Path Subtle,You may enjoy the bliss of SivaThat is subtlest of all. Verse 910: Sivaya Nama are of the Life-Vowels Five and Seminal Sounds FiveOne the Supreme Bliss,One the Supreme Bliss,Thus chant the mantraYou shall have Bliss,Bliss has its source in Letters Five;A-I-U-E and Aum the life vowels they are; They become the Five Letter mantraAnd joy that is within joy;Bliss lies in the seed-letters Five;Hum-Hrim-Ham-Ksam-Am, are they. The Jiva Muktas are qualified to say SiVaYaNaMa, SiVaYaMaNa. The details are described below. Tirumular says that anagram Mantra, Na-Ma-Va-Si-Ya stands in the sphere of Fire; Va-Si-Ya stands in that of Sun; and Va-Si stands in the sphere of Moon. The basic Mantra is Na Ma Si Va Ya. Na Ma Ya Si Vâ In the above Mantra, obscuration and impurities are the burdensome front load (Na Ma) on the soul Ya, Siva and Grace Si Vâ come once the soul is divested of the front load. Na Ma Ya Si Vâ: This is what you want. At this juncture the soul Ya sits between Si Vâ and the new configuration is Si Ya Vâ. This is bliss; this is liberation. Na = Tirodhana Sakti or Obscurant Siva Sakti. Ma = Malas or impurities Si = Siva Vâ = Grace Ya = soul Kçvala state is dream-sleep state of the soul Ya before birth. Guest guest
Om Namah Sivaya Dear Sri Bhupendra Lord Siva is both within and without, Sivaya Namah is Sukshma Panchakshara so should be chanted silently for invoking Siva Within whereas Namah Sivaya is Sthula Panchakshara so should be chanted aloud inorder invoke Siva without. Rishi Tirumular says in Tirumantiram: Verse 919: The Five Letters Manifest (Sthula) and Subtle (Sukshma) The Panchakshara (Five Letters) is the Lord's Abode,That Panchakshara Manifest (is Namasivaya)That Subtle is SivayanamaThus is He in that Mantra,Manifest and Subtle. With regards to its effect, Rishi Tirumular says in Tirumantiram: Verse 983: Chant Namasivaya and Vanquish Karmas; Chant Sivaya Nama and Be One With Sadasiva In the Five Letters beginning with "Na" (Na Ma Si Va Ya)Are all actions you seek to do;In the Five Letters are stubborn Karmas vanquished; Those who hold in their heartsThe Five Letters with "Si" to begin (Si Va Ya Na Ma).Will with Primal Sadasiva one be. Commentary : 'Sivaya Namah' should be chanted by true devotees of Lord Siva and Self-Realised souls because their goal is to merge with Siva. Guest guest
Namaskaar BhupendraI want to teach you a little secret, focus on the Ajna Chakra and there I want you to visualize Lord Shiva as clearly as you can. Try to mentally situate yourself at his feet. Recite "Namah Sivaya" -108 timesFirstly perform his puja mentally as followsOfferPushpa, Attar, Dhupa, Dipa, Naivedya.Ask for forgiveness of your sins then, mentally cut your own head off and offer it to him. When you are done, picture his third eye opening and burning your body to ash. With what is left of you, take this ash and smear it on his body. When you feel connected to him, try to go into his heart ( will all of yourself to project all of your being into his heart. When you are there recite "Sivaya Namah"108 times or as many as you wish. with each recitation try to feel as though you are one with him.Let me know how this goes for you.Namah SivayaBest RegardsPandit Devindra Maharajb_jamnadas <b_jamna> wrote: Dear Selvakumar Ji, Thank you for your clarification. Guest guest
Namaste Pundit Ji, I have already started the basic steps in the dorection you point....in my own way serving Siva mentally during mantra jap. My problem has always been lack of concentration. Everyday has to have it own reason why I cannot concentrate, the reason is always one or the other...something is going on in the head. To that effect, I have started pranayam breathing exercises to help increase my level of concentration. But perhaps I am carrying a huge burden of bad karma becuase it is taking me a lot of time and effort to improve my concentration power. Thanks for your email though....it is a confirmation that I am in the right direction, but I still have a long way to go apparently. Would it be OK for me to meail you personally in cases when I need clarification and i do not wish to share it with the whole group? Thanks, Bhupendra. , Dev Maharaj <dev_maharaj wrote: > > Namaskaar Bhupendra > > I want to teach you a little secret, focus on the Ajna Chakra and there I want you to visualize Lord Shiva as clearly as you can.
