Guest guest
Hamsa is the symbol of VIVEKA i.e discernment. Hamsa is known for his NEERA_KSHEERA_VIVEKA. That is extracting quintessece. Separating good from trash. One can see the Shloka in the opening pages of the PANCHATANTRA. Soham is the Sandhi of Sah Aham. That is me. Means " I am Brahma". It is also alternately expressed as Tat_Tvam_Asi. You are that. You are the Brahma. Bhalchandra G. Thattey Shubham Bhavatu! Sarvaypi Sukhinah Santu! Guest guest
I may add that in the Indian tradition of SADHUPURUSH there is a gradation according to their AWASTHA/ condition of achievement: -Hamsa -Rajahamsa -Paramahamsa In Punjab HAMSA is a family name. they are well read. In Mahrashtra RAJAHAMSA is a family name. They are exceptionally gifted in music. - I have so far not heard a family name PARAMAHAMSA. Although I have heard PARAMANANDA as family name. Of course, that is not the same. Bhalchandra G. Thattey On 4/21/07, bgthattey <bgthattey wrote: Hamsa is the symbol of VIVEKA i.e discernment. Hamsa is known for his NEERA_KSHEERA_VIVEKA.
