Sri Maatre Namaha

Sri Basaveswara was the founder of Veerasaiva cult. He showes

several miracles duly worshipping Bhagwaan SADASIVA and eliminated

the caste and cread system. He worked as a prime minister in the

kingdom of Bijjala in Karnataka state in south India. He was also a

poet, and wrote several proses praising SADASIVA. Let us taste one of

his prose on KOODALA SANGAMESWARA (SADASIVA).

" Is there any ash to the camphor in flame?

Any mud in the water of the mirage?

Any impurity in fragrance borne by wind?

Can there be a touch of the world in Thy favour?

The nector of Thy name my tounge tastes.

Thy image is ever my eyes target.

And the music of Thy fame in my ear rings,

I am an humble bee buzzing about Thy feet.

My mind, body and wealth are Thine,

My eyes and head I offer Thee.

Thy ever seving slave am I, Oh, Sangamesh,

Steal not, kill nothing and speak no lie. "

SADASIVO RAKSHATU
