Udiyannoor Siva Temple at Nalanchira, Thiruvananthapuram was once

before introduced to Om Namah Shivaya Group. I am writing to the

group again to have some enlightenment.

You can learn more about this eight-hundred year old temple by

visiting the website: www.udiyannoorappan.org

I visited this temple for the first time about three years ago when

my daughter came to live in the near vicinity after buying a house

of her own. This visit was after my Bharath Yathra during 1999-

2000 that took me criss-cross the country from Kanyakumari to

Kedarnath in Himalayas. This was without money. During the yathra

by Divine Grace visit all twelve Jyotir Ling Temples apartfrom

hundreds of other Siva Temples. Earlier I could visit Pasupatinath

Temple too.

I could experience much energy in Udiyannoor Siva Temple. A year

back the temple organized Maha Rudra Yajna. Thereafter the energy

level increased tremendously. The increased energy got depleted

too suddenly.

I noticed to my surprise the temple management is with a trust

filled with persons less interested in temple upkeeping and Siva

worshipping habit. The temple has a very beautiful natural

environment and setting. There are two separate deities of Siva in

two separate temples in the same place, with a large banyan tree and

temple front in the front. One The openings of the temple is

towards East.

The temple surroundings are not kept clean. There is no concern for

the members of the trust to keep the temple in a clean and hygienic

atmosphere. Apparently as a result of this neglect, I noticed much

sufferings around the temple. During the past few months, there

have been a number of deaths with one kilometre radius of the

temple. There are innumerable other sufferings.

I strongly feel that if the temple is properly taken care of it will

be to the benefit of not only those living around the temple, but

the humanity as a whole. Can the knowledgeable Om Namaha Shivaya

Group members enlighten me on this?
