In the Bhagavad Gita, the qualities of a brahmin are defined: Samo damas tapah saucam ksantir aarjavam eve ca Jnanam Vijnanam aastikyam brahmakarma svabhavajam Peacefulness, self-control, austerity, purity of mind and body, patience and forgiveness, sincerity and honesty, wisdom, knowledge, and self-realization, are the natural activities of a Brahmana Swami Satyananda Saraswati quotes from the scriptures that a Brahmin performs only six activities 1. He prays for himself/herself 2. He prays for others 3. He learns the scriptures 4. He teaches the scriptures 5. He gives what he can 6. He accepts offerings made to him in equanimity (that is he does not negotiate or bargain and simply accepts whatever comes to him) Thank you! Sincerely, srini Jai Gurudev !
