Guest guest
Om Namah Sivaya Dear Shiva Bhaktas, Lord Siva is very kind. He will accept you as you are - with all your mistakes, faults and shortcomings. However, there is one aspect that he will definitely test because he does not want you to become inebriated in your spiritual growth. He will test your spiritual ego - the ego about how much you have attained or how much puja you do or how pure you are. The less ego you have the nearer you are to Lord Siva - the more blissful you remain . As Panditji said it is the same life force or consciousness in every living entity - so on this earth there is nothing that we can gain or loose. The mind, the body, the intellect and ahamkar(ego) belong to Sakti (also called Prakruti) and the life force or Atman is Lord Siva. So it is all a mixture of Sakti and Siva. There is nothing we can claim to be our own. Infact the whole purpose of spiritual sadhana is to get rid of the notions of me, mine, you, yours etc. It is all Sakti and Siva. We just possess some things - we don't own them. Note the difference between ownership and possession. regards, OM Namah Sivaya
Guest guest
To quell spiritual ego….should we stop listening to bhajans or shivji….?? Should we become less and less spiritual……or is it the other way round….Because excessive spiritualism causes a lot of ego… On Behalf Of bhatnagar_shailendra Monday, April 02, 2007 7:50 AM To: Spiritual ego Om Namah Sivaya Dear Shiva Bhaktas, Lord Siva is very kind. Guest guest
Aum Namah Shivaaya! Kanishk, your interpretation sounds very off the mark. this is like asking " Should we ask people to not drink water because it gives them an urge to urinate on roadsides " (because consuming water causes urination, you see). you have started a very interesting topic about ego. Shailendra Bhatnagar is trying to tell you that bhakti doesnt necesarily have to give rise to ego. the ego that he is talking about is the feeling that " I'm superior to others because i spend so much time praying to the Lord " or that " I can perform miracles due to the powers that i had gained from prayers " . if you could keep this " I " ness in control, teh Gods Themselves will come to you. so dont reduce your bhakti or stop listening to bhajans. with warm regards, Sindhu On 02 Apr 2007 03:39:34 -0700, endurance.patience <endurance.patience wrote: To quell spiritual ego….should we stop listening to bhajans or shivji….?? Guest guest
It is again about humility,....I guess if you keep trying to self analysing yourself...then i guess its possible.... Its no doubt very very difficult.... What i really feel we should be happy with what god has given us,,,,,instead of craving for more.... But dont you think if a person is suffering then he remembers god more....?? Then he actually craves for good health.... But i truly believe that god know's what is best.....I guess he has a place for everything and everyone at the proper time.... regards, kanishk Sindhu Madhusudan wrote: Aum Namah Shivaaya!
