Guest guest
from the best of my understanding, after Kali defeated the evil demon Ratkabija (by drinking all of the demon's blood), after defeating this demon, Kali went crazy and on a rampage and was in danger of destroying the universe with her dance - so to save the Universe, Shiva lay down beneath her and she unknowingly landed on him - and at the moment she landed on him she regained controled of her senses and realized what she was in danger of doing and because of this - she put out her tongue sort of in the fashion " oops - did i do that??? " i'm sure there might be people that could explain it better, but that's my laymen's understanding. so in essense, Kali's end position of her feet on Shiva - was an inadvertent act that in fact - was the actions of Shiva saving the universe. Guest guest
Well, there is one version of the story that has Kali fighting the demons after She was created by all the Gods, which includes the Vedic deities and Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. The chief demon, whose name I have forgotten(I don't do names very well) had this thing where when Kali would cut him; every drop of blood that would fall to the ground would create another demon, before long there would be legions of them. So, Kali would drink every drop of demonic blood before it hit the ground. This sent Her on a rampage that even after every demon was killed, She could not stop the killing. All of creation was threatened by this. So, Shiva ran and threw Himself under Her feet. When Kali experienced His calm and serene Being, She stopped. Then, She stuck out Her tongue in shame for having Her feet on Her husband. This is what I read, in my own words.
