Hi Shankari Kali,

This is the one I have - " Tantric Visions of the Divine Feminine:

The Ten Mahavidyas " :

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0520204999/104-8602778-4607963

Life is good. I went to hindu temple for the first time in a long

while. I was speaking with a Bengali friend of mine and she

mentioned that she has a house in Kolkata, so that if i ever get the

chance to go - she'll let me stay there - i mean how sweet!!!

I'm currently reading " Kali's Odiyya " - amongst like five other

books at the same time - hehehe.

Oh, go see " The Namesake " - it's a beautiful indian movie (not sure

if i've mentioned it in previous posts), filmed partially in NYC and

partially in Kolkata. No mention of Kali, but there were some

instances of Saraswati presented throughout the movie?

How are things in your world?

Namaste,

Andy

Hi Andy!Wow! You are lucky! I would like to visit Calcutta, and Assam where they have the famous pitha of the Divine Mother Called the Temple of Kamakya.I was pondering whether or not to buy that book that you have now. I did read "Kali's Odiyya". I have to admit that it was really bizarre to me at the time, but for some reason I could not put it down.I recently read "Tantra Unveiled" by Pandit Rajmani Tigunait. It was good. Again it had some of the left hand path rituals listed in there.I got through the Chandi Path, but the opening hymns were not transliterated into English in the version I had, so I had to order another version from www.shreemaa.org.Do you know anything about Sri Vidya? Supposedly there is a Tantric group called Sri Vidya, and then there is another group that only recites the Lalitha Saharanam Stotram, and they also worship the Sri Yantra. I think the older Sri Vidya is a wider Tantric

culture or group, and the newer one follows one particular Guru. I'm not sure.I still don't have the courage to go to a Hindu Temple. I would have to drive for quite a long distance unless I went to a small satsang for the Hugging Saint Amma. I'm just not ready to take the plunge that way.Take care,Shankari KaliAndy <happytheclown37 wrote: Hi Shankari Kali, This is the one I have - "Tantric Visions of the Divine Feminine: The Ten Mahavidyas": http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0520204999/104-8602778-4607963 Life is good. Hey Shankari Kali,

not so much lucky because it's not like i'll be visiting Kolkata

anytime soon. I can't even afford myself, let alone a trip to

India :P - but it was the sweetness of my friends gesture that i

really appreciated. Never have heard of Assam though :(

I'm only into the second chapter of Kali's Odiyya, but i'm looking

forward to getting freaked out, err, learning everything i can from

it :D

I'm not familiar with the Chandi Path, aside from hearing it

referred to in passing. I know it's mentioned a lot on Shree Maa's

website and/or but there are so many posts to that

group everyday that it's like information overload and i tend not to

read any posts - bad i know. I do have a wonderful musical kirtan

by Shree Maa. I had ordered the Kali Puja book from them and they

were so sweet and kind to include the Shree Maa CD for free - i was

very pleasantly surprised and have listened to it quite often,

amongst other kirtans.

I'm not familiar with Sri Vidya nor Lalitha Saharanam Stotram,

sorry. It's beyond my very limited knowledge base at this current

time.

I think, if/when the right time comes for you to goto a hindu

temple - you'll know it at the time.

namaste,

andy
