Guest guest
Hi, i have recently started doing the chance Om Hrim Shreem Klim Adya Kalika Param Eshwari Swaha [Om Hreem Shreem Kleem Ahd-yah Kah-lee-kah Pah-rahm Ehsh-wah-ree Swah-hah] I have found it to be a happy chant. When i do it, i feel very subtle inclinations towards happiness. The vibration of the chant is very melodious. I do/have done other chants/mantras that don't seem to have quite the harmonious flow about them that this chant does. Guest guest
Namaste:Did you get this mantra from your guru? I haven't been able to find a guru yet, so I worship on my own for now. When I chant the Chandi Mantra: Eim Hrim Klim Chamundayai Vicce (Namaha)it makes me feel happy and comforted. Some have claimed they feel violent, but I feel peaceful and deeply comforted. That it interesting that this mantra makes you happy. The sounds themselves seem to have some power that goes beyond reason.Shanti Om,Shankari KaliAndy <happytheclown37 wrote: Hi, i have recently started doing the chance Om Hrim Shreem Klim Adya Kalika Param Eshwari Swaha [Om Hreem Shreem Kleem Ahd-yah Kah-lee-kah Pah-rahm Ehsh-wah-ree Swah-hah] I have found it to be a happy chant. Guest guest
Hi, I am Anirban from Kolkata. I am a worshipper of Shakti and my Ishta is Goddess Kaali. I got my Diksha almost 5 years back and so, I have the Bija Mantra from my Guru. Besides, - I recite Adya Stotra and Kaali Dhyan daily. I have started Chandi Path since a few days. Since Chandi is a big book and the system is that - you can not just read it without getting the meanings of the Mantras, and you need almost a full day for that - it is wise to read Argala Stotra, Devi-Kavacha and Kunjika-Stotra instead of the whole book. Please note that one should not read Chandi after sunset. Chandi is known to be the most powerful one and is it said that Goddess Mahamaya resides in the " Chandi " (book) herself. Even if you cannot afford to read the book or even if you do not find time for any other ritual, - a flower or a leaf or even only a PRANAM to the book with complete devotion pleases the Mother! Remember not to read Chandi musically. Always read Chandi in a not so loud not so calm voice with clear sound of each word. Show respect to this book as much respect as if Maa Mahamaya stands before you! Do not get panic if you make any mistake. Mother can never get angry on her child. Love her and that is the easiest way to reach her! No mantra, no yantra, noo tantra nor even any sort of worship is required, - you can win her heart by only pure love for her. But remember only a few things, - 1. Do not lie unless it is for a good reason, 2. Do not disrespect anybody,- everyone is a child of Holy Mother, 3. Never allow your loyalty to leave you, 4. Try to help everyone without any expectation. 5. Forgive your so-called enemies, - they are all your brothers and sisters. 6. Never allow your hand and words to hurt anybody. 7. Once you start practicing the above-mentioned jobs, - Goddess Mahamaya(or Shakti, or Durga, Kaali, Shiva, Vishnu, God, Allah - you can call her in any name!) will start moulding your heart into an amphora filled with the sweetest of all wines, - LOVE. Share it with everyone you see, you meet in your way of life and just watch the miracle around you! YOU CAN DO HER WONDERS ONLY IF YOU DO NOT LET HER ASHAMED OF YOU! Guest guest
Hi Shankari, To be honest - I don't know. I am such a novice at all things (this, not being said out of modesty, but out of plain truth). I'm a believer that energy comes into our life for a reason, at the time it is meant to come into our life. I have come across other Kali mantras in the past - that have had similiar warnings about the power behind the mantra - and for that reason, i had at such time - shyed away from those specific mantras and instead opted for a more simple mantra " Om Krim Kali " (which i learned from the book " Kali: The Black Goddess of Dakshineswar " ). I have been doing that mantra fairly regularly, along with a hare krishna mantra that I do as well. The hare krishna mantra i've been doing for about 10 or 11 months. The " Om Krim Kali " mantra I had been doing for about 3-4 months, perhaps. At this time, when I came across the mantra presented at the beliefnet website - (and of course - they listed two mantras - one of which was the less " auspicious " version, i guess one could say?) - i can't explain exactly what or why, but I felt the time was " right " for me to incorporate that mantra into my japa meditation. This was only about a week and a half ago. Can I pinpoint any decisive benefits from any of the japa that i've been doing - benefits that i can say absolutely and conclusively are derived from doing japa - no - i cannot. I can say that i had a very revealing incident that left little doubt - was a calling from Kali - (which I'll be happy to share in this forum or in private email - either way is fine). I can say that I've had some miracles bless my life, in the context of what a miracle meant to me at the time i needed it most - very recently actually, for which again, i'd be happy to extrapolate further either in forum or email. I often wonder to myself " does this even work " ? " am I really accomplishing anything " ? " am i just being foolish, sitting here and doing japa and expecting/hoping (in some way) for there to be some positive consequence " ? Questions i would imagine a lot of people that are beginners on this path to often ponder to themselves. When I think of the questions above - here are some of the answers I give myself. When I wonder if it works - i tell myself " well...how do I define " work " ? What constitutes something " working " or not? How will i know or recognize this? These are questions that I cannot answer, of course. So I try to put my questions aside, put my expectations aside, and just do what my heart tells me to do (i.e. " japa " ) and let Kali take over from there. Guest guest
Namaste Andy:I had some posts from the group and other groups to hit my mailbox about 10 or 20 times, so sorry about being slow to reply. You are right when it comes to japa. I have chanted mantras to Ganesha, Shiva, Kali, Durga, Lakshmi, Buddha, Tara over and over, and the only thing I can say is that it seems to make some changes inside. These may be ever so slight. We may suddenly begin to open to new ideas or we may begin to question old beliefs, etc. I have noticed chanting the Lalitha Sahasaram Stotra that in the middle of this long scripture I would get a sense that a bit of wisdom had been clearly revealed to me. It would usually be something that I had been worrying about or thinking about. A strange thing happened yesterday while chanting it. My emotions completely flip-flopped. Normally I'm very stable emotionally and suddenly I could not stop crying. It was very odd. I also think that we start a practice because say for example that we really need more money or we really don't want to live alone, and then slowly we begin to realize that our motivations have changed. This has happened to me. I apologize in advance if this posts too many times. I think there is some type of virus in the system somewhere.Shanti Om,Shankari KaliAndy <happytheclown37 wrote: Hi Shankari, To be honest - I don't know. Guest guest
Hi Shankari, You're certainly not the only person having problems with multiple posts - i had the same problem yesterday, it would seem it must have been an issue with the . When it comes to things of a spiritual nature - a try to take a two tiered approach. I try to keep an open mind because there is obviously (in my humble opinion) a " force " behind life as we know it. At that same time, i have a very analytical mind so i try to allow myself the freedom to be pragmatic and always question. With all due respect, my findings have found mantras to be a lot like living in the southeastern U.S. When you live/visit this part of the country, every tourist attraction is the " world's biggest " or " nation's biggest " or " tallest " or " smallest " ad infinitum. With mantras, it seems that many claim to have an inside track on " the most powerful mantra " , whether it's Hare Krishna, Kali, or Om Mani Padme Hum, etc. It leads to me to believe that perhaps, logically, it's more about the effort and the sincerity put into the mantra then the specific sound vibrations put into it - or something inbetween. I don't pretend to know the answer, but it is something i have and continue to think about from time to time. I do believe that whatever affects may be brought about by mantra would be of a very subtle nature indeed - at least when taken into consideration from a gross physical aspect. That's interesting about your emotional shift during the mantra. About the only emotions that i feel are, quite admittedly, restlessness. If i have emotional residue before going into the mantra, then i find the mantra is very adept and bringing those emotions closer to the surface. So, for example, if i'm sad about something, when doing the mantra i'll be that much more likely to have a deep cry - because i feel that by doing mantra - i'm talking to father (Krishna) or mother (Kali). My motivations for mantra, have always been to get closer to God. If it wasn't for that, i actually would never have the push to continue. Before learning about japa, i would sit and meditate to a new age " flute " type CD - but that was difficult to do for any length of time. I believe that in life, your desires - if they're in tune with your spiritual needs, will manifest into actions (if you haven't seen it yet, be sure to watch the movie " What The Bleep Do We Know " - that's the actual title of the movie). Anyhow, it was my desire for something to come along to strengthen my meditation habits and soon thereafter, i came across Hare Krishna who then introduced me to japa meditation, which i've been doing ever since. In order to get in all of the japa that i attempt, i do japa not only when sitting still, but while driving, walking, various oppportune moments. My reasoning is i could be listening to the car radio or walking with my thoughts on something else, but instead i'm trying to commune w/God by doing the japa. Without doing that, it would be next to impossible to implement the japa that i try to accomplish most everyday. Oh, what does " Shankari Kali " mean and how did you come about that name? Is that a birth name or a name you've since adopted? I hope you don't mind me asking. Guest guest
Andy,Yes. You are probably right about the "biggest" , "most powerful" mantra issues. Every other one seems to be more powerful than the other, and when you get down to it, you just want to quiet down or honor the deity.I also find that Zen type meditation is difficult. It is difficult to think of nothing. That's why I turned to japa as well.I gave myself the name Shankari Kali. That's probably not the best way to acquire a name. Shankari is a female version of Shiva, and I am always drawn to Kali. This is how I gave myself the name. Shanti Om,Shankari KaliAndy <happytheclown37 wrote: Hi Shankari, You're certainly not the only person having problems with multiple posts - i had the same problem yesterday, it would seem it must have been an issue with the . When it comes to things of a spiritual nature - a try to take a two tiered approach. I try to keep an open mind because there is obviously (in my humble opinion) a "force" behind life as we know it. At that same time, i have a very analytical mind so i try to allow myself the freedom to be pragmatic and always question. With all due respect, my findings have found mantras to be a lot like living in the southeastern U.S. When you live/visit this part of the country, every tourist attraction is the "world's biggest" or "nation's biggest" or "tallest" or "smallest" ad infinitum. With mantras, it seems that many claim to have an inside track on "the most powerful mantra", whether it's Hare Krishna, Kali, or Om Mani Padme Hum, etc. Before learning about japa, i would sit and meditate to a new age "flute" type CD - but that was difficult to do for any length of time. I believe that in life, your desires - if they're in tune with your spiritual needs, will manifest into actions (if you haven't seen it yet, be sure to watch the movie "What The Bleep Do We Know" - that's the actual title of the movie). Oh, what does "Shankari Kali" mean and how did you come about that name? Is that a birth name or a name you've since adopted? I hope you don't mind me asking.
