The best way to get genuine Shalagram, or Lakshmi Shank, gems,

etc., is to deal with an expert.

 

Selling sacred objects has no restrictions, except for Shalagram Shila. Dealing

in sacred-objects is risky, but someone HAS to do it.

So find a Shalagram expert and be thankful he is risking his/her life to make

genuine Shila available to Bhaktas. If fact, if such supplier is doing

distribution in Bhakti-yoga-bhava then he must be pleasing Bhagavan greatly.

 

In fact, there are expenses incurred in getting genuine Shalagram from Gandaki

in Nepal delivered safely to India. So people buying Shalagram correctly are not

buying, they are simply paying delivery costs.
