Guest guest
Dear Richard, The talismans are excellent. I have small query about the combinations of gems and rudraksha. What is reason for combining coral with 14 Mukh which is for planet Saturn. Also the nine mukhi rudraksha is shown with Navratna, where as nine mukhi is for Rahu. The Navratna is normally used with 10 mukhi which represent all planets. Guest guest
Dear Sriman, Namaste!!! First of all you are proclaiming that Rudrakshas are directly related to planets, like gems, and this is not supported by any shastra, it is just a contagious rumor. We know that gems act same as their associated planet, strengthening the planet. But we don't know this about Rudraksha. About Rudraksha we know it is associated with Lord Shiva. According to His greatness Lord Shiva can reduce the harmful effects of bad karma by His own power. That power is Rudraksha, the power of Shiva. But the relationship of Rudraksha with planets is just made up by people and parroted by people like me and you, even there is not a single Shastric reference. Also, the planets have their own numbers, such as number 4 for Rahu, or 9 for Mars. As it stands the only Rudraksha numbers that match the planet numbers are 1 for Sun, 2 for Moon, and 6 for Venus. All the rest make no sense. So I'm here in Thailand, where Navaratna is more important than in India, so how can I tell the people that 9 gems is NOT related to 9 face Rudraksha, rather it is 10 face. The people will think me crazy. And I have nothing to back it up. What is the harm in wearing 14 mukhi for Shiva along with Coral for Mars (mangala). Where is the prohibition? As for putting Nava-ratna with Nava-mukhi, what else makes sense? Still, I also follow the tradition of Rudraksha and planets, but not very strictly because there is no Vedic support for nor against it.
