The potency of a high-quality ruby is such that even an ignorant

person living a sinful life and surrounded by deadly enemies is saved

by wearing such a gem. Anyone wearing such a naturally effulgent ruby

would be freed from diseases caused by any imbalance of the bodily

functions. A ruby, although genuine,

should not be worn if it has strong color banding, excessive inclusions

within like numerous internal cracks, a sandy appearance, a rough

surface, or is dull and lusterless. Anyone using such a flawed ruby,

even out of ignorance, will suffer from disease, or loss of fortune. ---Sri Garuda Puranam: Chap. 70Richard Shaw Brown, PGMusician, Designer, Gemologist & Authorwww.richardshawbrown.com

Star ruby is good, provided the gem is transparent. Star ruby from India are

like a brick (non-transparent) - so don't use junk. Y/s, R-

Dear Richardjee,Thank you very much....I do agree with you.Actually the star which appears on satr ruby is I guess suppose to be due to some inclusion.(Silk).Therefore I was confused. However if I want to use the stone for ornamental purpose.I am going for Burma star ruby and expecting pics of same.Let us see what pics are availableAs per belief of Hindus even moorty in temple gains the power only after Pranapratishthapana.Once the pooja is over we do Visrajana also.It is mentioned in many places that if you want to ware particular gem then the person should have that on particular Hora/time.also chanting of mantras of that particular Graha is essential.I guess the pooja for the gem stone is necessary for Pranapratishthapana of that Graha in that particular Gem. And without Pranapratishthapana the stone

will not have the same power to affect your life.Plz correct me if I am wrong.Thank you very much once again.RegardsH R Gupte--- On Tue, 10/11/09, rsbj66 <rsbj66 wrote:rsbj66 <rsbj66 Re: Sri Garuda Purana is very clear on Ruby qualitysacred-objects Date: Tuesday, 10 November, 2009, 13:37Star ruby is good, provided the gem is transparent.
