Guest guest
Re: Why different of Ruby & Star RubyYour not asking about quality, your only asking about shape or cutting. A ruby must be transparent and mostly flawless to be Jyotish qualty, regardless the cutting. But if a ruby has many flaws or is translucent or opaque then it's junk regardless of the cutting style. Example: a flawless ruby can also be cut as cabachon if so desired. If the amount of included rutile needles is high it may adversely effect clarity, but will often show a star chatoyant light effect in dome cut.Otherwise most indian cabachon shaped non transparent ruby is actually just junk reddish corrundum that's industrial quality and is not fit to wear for jyotish at all.
