shree Ganesh chathurti is observed on 23rd aug, 2009. It is a big upvasa for people who dont keep fasts for lord ganesha throughout the year.

 

fast be kept without water, with water tea, milk, or food one time in night. Please dont take salt and anna atleast till sunset.

 

IT is said in hinduism that woeship if 5 gods, vishnu, shiv, durga, surya, ganesha is anivarya (necessary) for every one,That why Ramnavami, Janamasthami, mahashivratri, chatt pooja, diawali, narsinghjayanti, vamanjayanti, ganesha chathurthi is to be celebearted with upavasa as a must for all hindus and people of world. As these fasts remove samkats vighans, bless us with prosperity, and good fate, destrys our paapams. On 23rd the ganesha tattva will be most powerful. lets fast and pray to god to enable this tattava to embodiefy us and save us from vighan badhas of all kind and give bless us with prospertiy and sada buddhi for all actions throughout the year.

 

On this day dont forget to pray and offer ladoos, modaks, druva ( dry grass ) to lord Ganesha.
