Guest guest
dear friends as richardji rightly presented, everything a person buy is based on belief. for example a person believes a simple round stone in the form of shivling or a shaligram is an embodiment of shiva or lakshmi and worship it. another person may simply call it stone. many shani temples in india worship a simple iron rod or iron or similar metal rock. even metals are worshipped by the believers. even trees are worshipped by the believers like tulasi, bilva (bel) and peepal. shivbhakts smear ash on the forehead and body and even ash is reverred and worshipped. animals too are worshipped like cow is a representative of all gods and goddesses. birds too are worshipped with the eagle as vahan of vishnu, peacock as vahan of kartikeya etc. stones of vaious colours are bought on the belief that they represent so and so planet. everythng in such mythicl items is purely based on belief and the sellers sells only to the believers. if a person dont believe in this mythology and gemology, then he wont visit a stoneseller. with best wishes and blessings pandit arjun www.rudraksharemedy.com sacred-objects , Richard Shaw Brown <rsbj66 wrote: > > > Not Scientific > > All the nine gems are considered by believers to be equally sacred, and they only differ according to the astral influence of their ruling planets. This belief system is rife with unprovable opinions, in spite of the very question of gems having astrological powers YET to be scientifically proved. > > Unprovable " opinions " , e.g., gems must be a certain number carat weight, or MUST touch the skin, or small gems don't work, or gems should be selected for harmful planets, or for favorable planets, or very flawed gems are acceptable, or a cultured pearl is a REAL pearl, or heat-enhanced gems have no powers, etc., cannot be presented as facts. In NO scripture or science is this valid. But, it is correct to say that believers are of these varied opinions even though this is NOT supported by any scripture nor science. > > ANYONE who can prove scientifically that gems have astral power (or not) will get the Nobel Prize. Until then it's just a jumble of baseless opinions, many of which are nonsense, None of which are provable. > > Richard Shaw Brown, PG > Musician, Designer, Gemologist & Author > www.richardshawbrown.com > > > New Email addresses available on > Get the Email name you & #39;ve always wanted on the new @ymail and @rocketmail. > Hurry before someone else does! > http://mail.promotions./newdomains/aa/ >
