Karan Singh Knows Everyone

In a New Delhi office worked Karan Singh. Singh had an irritating habit of

saying, " I know him! " when ever any famous person was mentioned. Finally his

co-workers put together Rs 1000 and bet Karan Singh did not know the Mayor of

Delhi. Immediately he picked up the phone and called the Mayor. The co-workers

were dumbstruck, so they pooled Rs. 10,000 and bet Singh did not know the

President of India. Immediately he picked up the phone and was having a friendly

chat with India's President. At their wits end the co-workers approached the

boss who offers Rs 100,000 betting that Karan does not know the Pope. So

together with a witness Singh flies to Rome. Leaving his friend in the Vatican

courtyard, Karan enters the building. Soon a large crowd fills the court yard,

and begin cheering, looking up. Seeing two figures high on a balcony he can

hardly make out who is who, so he asks a local man in broken English who they

are. The Italian replies, " The man with the long robe, I don't know, but the

other is Karan Singh! "
