Guest guest
dear friend to the extent of not commenting without actually visiting, i agree to it but till then, those who visited this place and have seen no doors at all in any house in the village may give their account. we hear so many stories and miracles of each pilgrimage but first hand account is always more valid. keeping the above issue of " housing having no doors or having doors but not locked " aside, i searched various websites and blogspots on this shani idol and did not find any material as you said that the rock worshipped as shani here is a meteor. one eminent person wrote this line in the journal of astrology: " The Shani idol is a large black rock (probably of basaltic origin, a common rock formation of the western Deccan Plateau on which most of Maharashtra state rests). Hundreds of years ago, the rock was said to have reached the village, floating on the waters of the nearby river and landed on the shores " . another dedicated blogspot whose link is given below states the idol as follows: http://shanishingnapur.blogspot.com/search/label/History%20of%20Idol%20in%20Shin\ gnapur " It is believed that, 250 years ago, in Shingnapur village it rained so heavily and incessantly that all the houses and fields were submerged by flowing water. The Shani idol came flowing along with the flood waters and got stuck in the branches of the neighboring berry tree. After the reducing of flood water when cowherds went near Panas Nala, they saw the big stone boulder in the branches of tree. They were surprise to see it. With the lot of hesitation, they poked the idol with their sticks and stone started bleeding " . there was another article in india's famous magazine which also stated the same above version that a rock came to the village from the waters and it bled etc. members may view of the photo of this rock at the following link http://www.shanishinganapur.com/ in view of the above, could you kindly inform the source from where you deduced that this huge plain rock here is a meteor from outer space or a meteor from saturn. with best wishes and blessings pandit arjun www.rudraksharemredy.com sacred-objects , Shaligram Shala <shaligram8 wrote: > > > Hare Krishna Prabhu Arjunji, > Please accept my best wishes, all glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga, all glories to all the devotees of the Lord. > > Prabhu ji commenting without actually visiting Shani Sheengnapur and thinking that the doors in the houses will have locks and thefts are taking place there (because it is Kalyuga) speaks about your self imagination. Guest guest
dear friend my mail was specifically intended to get clarity on one simple thing claimed by you that the stone worshipped in shinganapur is a meteor. please restate whether you amend it as only associated with meteor or still believe it is a meteor. here i request other members to view the picture of the plain rock in shinganapur at the link given and give their opinion whether it is a meteor or not. meteors are obviously from outer space and the stone in this shinganapur is not looking like a meteor fallen from the outer space or outer planets, in my limited knoweldge. with best wishes and blessings pandit arjun www.rudraksharemedy.com sacred-objects , Shaligram Shala <shaligram8 wrote: > > > > Hare Krishna Prabhu, > Please accept my best wishes, all glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga, all glories to all the devotees of the Lord. > > > > Prabhu now you would like to go for a person who has written about Shani Sheengna pur or you want to go the Hindu Mythological Texts Prabhu. > > Its quite an hypocracy that Texts written in various Hindu Mythological Tantra about Rudrakshas above 14 Mukhi are not acceptable to you other than Shiva Purana and now you are ready to accept what one person has written about Shani Sheengna pur. Guest guest
I am from Pune....Shani Shingnapur is just 250 kms from this place...and I have visited this place many times...even prior to this place becoming very famous after the movie from late film director Gulashan Kumar...Now days its i overly crowded and u have to follow lots of rules and regulation iof u want to offer oil by climbing on the structure on which shani idol/stone is mounted....It is true that there is tradition that houses have no doors...and there are rare/no cases of theif in shani shignapur...PPl in shingnapur tells us story about the stone which they found in near by river and was brought to this place by MAMA and Bhacha....(maternal uncle and his nephew...hmmmm never understood why nephew and uncle??) Further when the villagers found the stone....what made them believe that the stone is shani and not siva.....well there are many such doubts....but as many ppl beleive that its shani....we say its shani....its again a subject of faith....and since many ppl beleive its shani....and worship like secondary trasformer which gets charged by primary transformers electricity charge now the idol is charged with shani charges...RegardsH R Gupte--- On Mon, 27/4/09, panditarjun2004 <panditarjun2004 wrote:panditarjun2004 <panditarjun2004 Re: Shani Sheengnapursacred-objects Date: Monday, 27 April, 2009, 7:59 AMdear friendto the extent of not commenting without actually visiting, i agree to it but till then, those who visited this place and have seen no doors at all in any house in the village may give their account. we hear so many stories and miracles of each pilgrimage but first hand account is always more valid.keeping the above issue of "housing having no doors or having doors but not locked" aside, i searched various websites and blogspots on this shani idol and did not find any material as you said that the rock worshipped as shani here is a meteor.one eminent person wrote this line in the journal of astrology:"The Shani idol is a large black rock (probably of basaltic origin, a common rock formation of the western Deccan Plateau on which most of Maharashtra state rests). Hundreds of years ago, the rock was said to have reached the village, floating on the waters of the nearby river and landed on the shores".another dedicated blogspot whose link is given below states the idol as follows: http://shanishingnapur.blogspot.com/search/label/History%20of%20Idol%20in%20Shingnapur"It is believed that, 250 years ago, in Shingnapur village it rained so heavily and incessantly that all the houses and fields were submerged by flowing water. The Shani idol came flowing along with the flood waters and got stuck in the branches of the neighboring berry tree. After the reducing of flood water when cowherds went near Panas Nala, they saw the big stone boulder in the branches of tree. They were surprise to see it. With the lot of hesitation, they poked the idol with their sticks and stone started bleeding".there was another article in india's famous magazine which also stated the same above version that a rock came to the village from the waters and it bled etc.members may view of the photo of this rock at the following linkhttp://www.shanishinganapur.com/in view of the above, could you kindly inform the source from where you deduced that this huge plain rock here is a meteor from outer space or a meteor from saturn.with best wishes and blessingspandit arjunwww.rudraksharemredy.comsacred-objects , Shaligram Shala <shaligram8 wrote:>> > Hare Krishna Prabhu Arjunji, > Please accept my best wishes, all glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga, all glories to all the devotees of the Lord.> > Prabhu ji commenting without actually visiting Shani Sheengnapur and thinking that the doors in the houses will have locks and thefts are taking place there (because it is Kalyuga) speaks about your self imagination. Guest guest
Dear Pandit Arjun Though residing in Chennai, I do fly to Mumbai on Company's work and visited Shani Signapur at least four times. All meteorites should have a fusion crust since the surface of the meteorite gets burnt on entering the earth's atmosphere. Of course, if the meteorite(?) at Shani Signapur has been around for hundreds of years, the tonnes of mustard oil poured on it every day could have erroded the crust or removed the burnt marks. This is my conjecture as I am not an expert on meteorites. It is a matter of faith and whether it is a meteorite or a basalt rock, I feel very happy after each visit both to Shirdi and Shani Signapur.
