Guest guest
dear richardji shankh or a conch is an animal akin to a tortoise which has a thick skin as jard as a bone aka shell which acts as a cover for itself to protect from the predators. the photos of this animal can be seen in the net by simple search. this animal is also served as a SEAFOOD item in various countries. bluntly put, the flesh of the animal is eaten or died and the remaining bone or hard shell is WORSHIPPED. when i was speaking the truth about rudraksha, critics told that ALL their rudraksha have natural holes and they were shocked or wondered to hear that one makes a hole in it. always they tried to find a fall guy in me. similarly, they may now again be shocked to hear that these conches are pierced, drilled and made a big hole to let the wind pass through so that it can be BLOWN. if these oversensitive sacred object dealers find this horrible like they find ONLY WITH ME in rudraksha earlier, they would be disappointed to hear that i dont deal in conches. anyway customers be happy that these manually DRILLED HOLED shankhs which are BLOWN like a trumpet by all hindu priests may not find any critic because i am not dealing them. i would not wonder if these criics come and state publicly that ALL their shankh had natural hole. anyway, i have read and found that the ancient scriptures have enough references where a shankh is worshipped and how to blow a shankh and how the lord himself was carrying a shankh. critics may better change their habits of finding fault with others who make available sacred objects and work for the casue of giving more information about the sacred obejcts to the discerning customers and members and share more information than keeping close to chest even while demanding information from others. my advice to all sacred object dealers remains same alwyas that we all shall strive to make public aware of the sacred objects collectively, make these sacred objects available and highlight the significance of the sacred object and not the dealer. brother richard is one such sacred object dealer who always find positive supplementation when other sacred object dealers contribute and that is the right approach to look at all other dealers. with best wishes and blessings pandit arjun www.rudraksharemedy.com sacred-objects , " Richard Shaw Brown " <rsbj66 wrote: > > Is Lakshmi Shank an animal or a vegetable??? >
Guest guest
Respected Shri. Richard ji, Thank you very much for your posting. As we all know, all shells and calms are the 'exoskeletons' of mollusks (soft bodied animals found in sea, fresh water and also on land). Land snails are also mollusks. In higer animals, skeleton is inside the body commonly known as 'endoskeleton'. However, many of the mollusks have exoskeleton to protect them from their predators. There are few mollusk species who do not produce any shell. Thanking you and with regards, Chandrashekhar--- On Fri, 17/4/09, Richard Shaw Brown <rsbj66 wrote: Richard Shaw Brown <rsbj66 Question on Lakhmi Shanksacred-objects Date: Friday, 17 April, 2009, 1:55 AM Is Lakshmi Shank an animal or a vegetable???
