In my opinion the right connotation for Advaita is not Zeroism / Shunyavaad, It should be Complex Infinity, which in Sanskrit could mean.... well let's leave it at that..... Rgds

Do we go by your opinion? Or Shastra? Firstly, WHO are YOU?

Advaitavad means merging into Brahman, the totality of Chit, thus

losing all identity of EVERYTHING and existing like a drop of water

merges in the ocean and looses it's identity and becomes nir-guna,

nirakar, etc., which could be called spiritual suicide.

Shunyavad means merging into Nirvan (void) (Brahman) and the cessation

of consciousness. thus losing all identity of EVERYTHING and existing

like a drop of water merges in the ocean and looses it's identity and

becomes nir-guna, etc., which could be called spiritual suicide.

Advaitavad is ALL NIRAKAR CHIT - it is " white " shunya

Shunyavad is ALL NIRAKAR ACHIT - it is " black " shunya

---But both have no realization of God. And both, being devoid of

Personality of God, are deemed atheism by late Pope John Paul (and all

Vaishnavacharyas).

Please READ BOTH the Vaishnava tika and Shankar tika of Vedanta Sutra

(Brahma Sutra). Then you're qualified to comment. Who has not studied

Vedanta Sutra is in no position to discuss Brahman or Nirvan.

But young people get a little taste of jnana and they think themselves

masters of wisdom. Then they get old and realize their foolishness.

Richard

In Srimad Bhagavat Maha Purana it is stated by, " SB 7.14.40:

" Sometimes a neophyte devotee offers all the paraphernalia for

worshiping the Lord, and he factually worships the Lord as the Deity,

but because he is envious of the superior devotees of Lord Vishnu, the

Lord is never satisfied with his devotional service. "

That is true, I'm truly sorry for misunderstanding your post anne,,,,,You just caught me in the middle of writing a proper mail on this topic, in a hope that everybody could at least understand some of its true beauty in plain language, because I think that Vedanta is the most beautiful & secretive metaphisical formula in existance,,, ..for example; the Buddhist doctrine of anatta expresses total transcendence of duality, while Nagarjuna madhyamaka contains an effective means of liberation from phenomenal existance, which positivist systems cannot metaphisicly achieve, nor they ever did so....why?because dualism implies(by its own doctrine) that evil, or negativity (call it as

you wish) exists purely on the basis of positive thinking????? It's like creating a peace by initiating a war ...it doesn't make sense..(wars are just mass ritual killings, nothing more, nothin less..(but that's another story))........and it just doesn't work......that's why there is a middle path,,,, are there any other ways for achiving spiritual balance ????....people get confused because they think that one(1) is the first number in natural order , but that's just not true....zero (0) came first, whether we like it or not...that's just mainstream science.....zero is not so depressing as it looks.... quite opposite, until later...............b/w & kind
