Guest guest
Sriman, Why are you interested in Rudraksha Cultivation!!!!, well, u can say for sure that primarily due to the specific gravity of certain areas in Nepal & the ambient temprature for nurturing the vital fluids of the Rudraksha Tree, the yield & quality of Nepalese Rudraksha are the best. For example; Giant Sized Beads of 5 Mukhi Rudraksha, which are used in making a specialized kantha, are produced by a select trees, deep in the reserve forest. As far my intel goes only 3 or 4 trees, produce this bead. So to cut it short not only you shall have to be content with lemons, but you shall have to drink your own lemonade. Unless Mahadev feels obliged to do something special for you.... Best MANOJ KAR <manoj_kar7 wrote: From Rudrakasha Ratna or Rudraksha nepal.. Guest guest
Dear Sir, As far my information goes the Rudraksha Tree bears a nice yield by the 7th year of its plantation. That said 5 mukhi Rudraksha's used in making Special Kantha have a minimum size of 30 mm each. These particular beads are very rare. Around 3 years back I purchased 2 kantha's comprising of 33 beads for Rs.2500 each. & today the wholesale price for this Kantha is a minimum 12,500/-. Last year the trees producing these beads gave a poor yield. So the material is scarce. Guest guest
Dear Friend ! We have 1106 Eleaocarpus augustifolia (ex-E ganitrus), in Manaus Amazonia state Brasil. And few trees that are endemic to this place Amazonia (Amazon), its 100 % rudralsha looking seed and fruit are same as Rudraksha, but it grows up 75 cm to 108 cm big, and the seeds weigh about 25-60 grams have an eye () like mukhi (exactly 2 lines together, Its a kind of giant rudraksha. I have still yet to identify with the local botanical sources, but its not E.augustifolia. Its brasilian tropical specie of Eleaocarpus. We have few more other species of badraksha, and a few species of eleaocarpus that grows like a orange reddish fruits niral (Lakshimi coconut the seeds look like a supri / betel nuts as touted in india for tantric good fortune. The botanical nomclemature is Elaeocarpus livingstonia, I seen few other species in Papua new Guinea, Nortern Terrorities Australia and Perth. Please advice, if you need seeds or fruits intact with seeds, as I can get at least 3 other species excluding E.augustifolia, so total 4 species X'mas Cheers from Sao Paulo..Brasil sacred-objects , " medicarelabs " <medicarelabs wrote: > > I am interested in cultivating all the 35 species of Elaeocarpus > genus(Rudraksha)in Kokan,Maharashtra,India. Guest guest
Are the Rudraksha growing in Indonesia introduced by human trading or native to the area? I think Abhishek Dutta's comments on " lemon rudraksha " sound ethnocentric and do injustice to the universality of Sanatan Dharma. Rudraksha is Lord Shiva himself who is not limited by time and space, i.e. location. When lamenting Lord Shiva was carrying the body of Mother Sati around the globe and Sri Vishnu was cutting the corpse with Sudarshana, parts of it fell to the Earth in different locations around the world. The sacred Yoni part fell in Nepal and this is one reason for that location's spiritual significance. I read of a tradition that says parts also fell in Hawaii, Indonesia and other places, but I can't provide any scriptural evidence. Originally in past Yugas the entire planet was called Bharatvarsha, indicating that Sanatan Dharma is universal and not for Indians only. At least that is my understanding, others can believe as they want. From my past botanical research on Elaeocarpus, I read there are endemic species growing in South America but Rudraksha itself is not native or endemic there. Can Bala Songyi post photos of the giant Amazonian Rudraksha he referred to?
