Even a little heat would destroy any coral (which is a tree). In buying red coral the things to be careful are: 1) Synthetic coral. It feels like glass when tapped on your teeth. 2) Real coral which is Dyed. If you rub the coral on white linen the dye will show. 3) Coral which is flawless on top but flawed-junk on the bottom. Fine coral is natural, undyed, and flawless on BOTH sides. Avoid these three. And Mangala will bless you.
