Guest guest
Dear Sir, One thing I know about it is that, It is good to look at. Unfortunately, (Or fortunately) It does not carry any references in Puranas. No mentions are made in Tantra Mahodadhi and Dattatrey Tantram, the two most important books on Tantra. As such I feel that it has nothing to do with Shastras or real powers. It is been sold by street Vendors, during " Shravana " month. Yesterday, I saw a piece with a bargain price of 250 Rs. So, It is a big world out there, do trust your " ishtha " inside you. Everything else is Maya. Alok Jagawat PS: Computers and Internet are ruled by Venus. The great Shukracharya was was the 'Guru' of demons. He was a Mayavi. sacred-objects , " Richard Shaw Brown " <rsbj66 wrote: > > First thing you should know is they are not Hira nor Shank. Guest guest
dear friend firstly all hira shankh are righthanded or dakshinavruti. ancient scritpures have various references where they classified shankhs broadly into two viz. right handed and left handed and mentioned that right handed are sacred and holy. here the sizes, shapes, ridges and other micro level details are not narrated. hence one can conclude safely that all right handed shankh are holy and sacred. as regards hira or diamond shankh, it does not find mention in the scriptures but is worshipped for the merit of the entire inner wall of diamonds or diamond like shining other fossilised crystal or whatever geophysical name it carries technically. this is akin to some rare shaligrams which contain gold deposits inside. the quantity of yellow metal inside the lakshmi shaligram varies and the traces of gold itself inside is considered holy and sacred. the diamond or gold deposits inside the shankh or shaligram are reverred due to their rarity and for the belief of auspiciousness. there are no references of diamond and gold deposits in shankh and shaligram respectively in ancient scriptures and hence it is worshipped or collected purely on faith and belief. as regards pricing, same product has different qualities and the prices are never comparable. for example ordinary (medium to large size) five mukhi rudraksha mala of 108+1 beads in wholesale costs just rupees twenty which means each rudraksha is less than twenty paise if you calculate in price terms. many wholesellers offer five mukhi rudraksha freely to their retailers on purchase of other costly rudrakshas. on the contrary a large sized collector grade five mukhi rudraksha costs minimum rupees three hundred each and even goes upwards. hence pricing is mentioned only if a native asks for it and natives shall not jump to conclusions on hearing one price at one place. with best wishes and blessings pandit arjun www.rudraksharemedy.com sacred-objects , " nandanacarya " <nandanacarya wrote: > > Do any body know something more about heera shankh, more than is > given in shaligram.com.
