Guest guest
Respected Shri. Richard ji, This is in connection with one of the important shell character. Shell outer lip may be transluscent or opeque. As you know in gemmology few of the gems are transluscent i.e. light passes through it diffusely. Many of the shell species show transluscent outer lip. If such shells are hold against natural bright Sun light one can see some amout of light (diffused light). However, in case of opeque material like ceramic or porcelin light is not seen. Shell picture simply can not judge whether shell outer lip is transluscent or opeque. It may be transluscent or opeque. It is always better to take radiographic image of the shell. Thanking you and with regards, Chandrashekhar Phadke Unlimited freedom, unlimited storage. Get it now
