There are MANY GREAT STORIES from India. But there are also some VERY silly ones

too.

 

Sri Durga Das Bhatia, late Mayor of Amritsar, told me a story in all

seriousness. He said Guru Nanak was sleeping with his feet facing Mecca. Some

Muslim soldiers ordered him to move. He told them, " I'm too tired, you can move

me " . And as they moved him, Mecca also moved.

 

Whew!!! It would take MORE than faith to believe that.

It's a cute story, either way. I just couldn't believe I was hearing it from the

Mayor of Amritsar, an educated man. Jeez! Hehehe!!!

---Yes, SURE! Which was all more interesting as he was not a Sikh, but a pious

Hindu. Personally I think he had MOST faith in Mecca. It was Mecca that was

moving.
