Guest guest
DEAR SIR, the garuda ring is simply superb. i see that the gems used are also of subtancial weight. could you pl suggest what is the ideal weightage of the gems to be fixed in this kind of navratna ring or pendant? for eg in case we take the ruby to be 5.5 carats then what would be the per carat weight of other gems? can they be more or less of same weight? thanks and regards aadi
Guest guest
Dear Aadi, Namaste!!! A 5 carat (jyotish quality) ruby will cost a least $25,000. so who can afford that? And that is way too big for a Navaratna ring. The ideal weight is 0.50 - 1 ct ruby (or spinel) with 0.50 carat side stones (4mm). The picture you mention has about 0.70 carat ruby in the center and 4mm gems. If you use BIG gems it cannot fit on a ring + will cost a fortune. Guest guest
Rupee to weight ratio. LOL. Yes. thats would be an important ratio to consider. But Sir, is there a ratio to be maintained for all stones as in if the ruby is .5 carat all other stones are .5 carat. Best Regards, Jayaadi291 <aadi291 wrote: thanks a lot for the information sir. i had missed out on the rupee to weight ratio. tks once again.sacred-objects , "Richard Shaw-Brown" <rsbj66 wrote:>> Dear Aadi,> > Namaste!!! Guest guest
NOTE: If any practicle ratio is to be applied it would be all the gems the same size. Otherwise it doesn't matter. The bigger gems cannot fit into a navaratna. Y/s, Richard sacred-objects , Jay Munshi <jaymunshi wrote: > > > Rupee to weight ratio. LOL. Yes. thats would be an important ratio to consider. Guest guest
It is necessary for gem to touch the skin??? Who has said this? Where is it written? Besides, Navaratna is a yantra, either keep in house or wear, still it is a yantra, and the stones do NOT need to touch the skin. In fact, flat bottom stones cannot touch the skin, so it is impossible. The idea that stones must " touch " the skin is same as they must " touch " the planet. It is mundane, completely non-spiritual idea. Although behind the stones should be open (not close backed), still even closed back Navaratna yantra is effective as yantra. I wear a red coral ring. The gem is flat bottom, so it is impossible to " touch " the skin. But still it is having full effect.
