Guest guest
Dear All, Namaste!!! Neither Beginners Guide to Hinduism nor Autobiography of a Yogi are NOT bonfide Shastra. And reading them a 1000 times is useless in becoming a qualified Vedantist. They are " tourist hinduism. " To qualify for discussion of Vedanta the following shastra MUST be mastered: 1) Bhagavad Gita (advaita-tika ALSO dvaita-tika, BOTH) 2) Brahma Sutras (Shankar Tika ALSO Madhvacharya OR Nimbarka OR Vishnuswami Tika) 3) Srimad Bhagavatam (Advaita tika ALSO Dvaita tika like Vishnu Swami's Tika) These must be studied, while living with a bona fide Guru as brahmachari in full vairagya for many years, and the difference between Astik and Nastik clearly understood, before one can claim to know Vedanta, or impertinently argue with elders who do know. Only qualified person's should discuss. Chanakya says " never argue with unqualified persons. " Best wishes, Richard

Guest guest
Yes, Sriman, mastered means " understood " ; full vairagua means " tapasya " . When one goes to school to learn Vedanta there must be tapasya and understanding from qualified teacher. Anything less is tourism. Guest guest
OK. Understanding Vedanta philosophy and God-realization are not the same thing. I have met some souls I felt were God-realized, but I'm not one. My understanding of Vedanta is academic. If I was a mukta purusha then you wouldn't find me here on .
