Questions and answers on Jyotish Gems

1. Do we get pure Gemstones? Those sold at jewellery shops are reliable

as per as their purity and quality are concerned?

---Rarely. We have created the PGA and instituted the rule against

flawed stones and imitation stones, still most carry Commercial (bluff)

stones because truly Jyotish quality gems are expensive. My own

business has grading system 100% flawless – 100% flawed... And we only

use clarity (loupe clean) 100%-90% clean. Clarity is the only thing

really mentioned in Shastra about gems – like in Garuda Puranam – it is

repeated with every gem, that ONLY fine quality are useful, and bad

stones are to be avoided. Yet in India, being both the biggest market

for Jyotish gems as well as the biggest offender, most gem dealers sell

sub-standard stones. If I show them a clean, flawless ruby they say,

“That is synthetic!”, and I, being a GIA Graduate, say, “No, this is

Padmarag in Jyotish quality.” and they are amazed. Even I see people in

India and Nepal wearing Navaratna, with small gems, yet they are

rubbish quality. So, no stone is better than a bad stone.

2. I wanted a Gemstone ˆ White Sapphire for my daughter to counter the

illeffects of Rahu (Ascending node) as it is in her 9th for pisces

ascendant aspected by Saturn from the 12th and mars from the 6th. She

has her ascendant lord Jupiter in the 7th in an enemy‚s house.Born on

29.06.1993 at 0.19 am at 12 N52,74E40.

---But White (colorless) sapphire, as with other colorless gems are for

Venus, and gives the results of Shukra. The rule at the PGA is against

the “Pratikulvaad (gems REVERSE planets), and the rule is Anukulvaad

(gems act SAME as their Graha). These conclusions have been reached by

voting of many people, including Smt. GDV.

3. What is the difference between white sapphire and yellow sapphire.

---Sapphire = corundum

RED – PINK CORUNDUM – Sun (Manikya)

BLUE CORUNDUM – Saturn (Neelam)

YELLOW CORUNDUM – Jupiter (Pusparag)

COLORLESS (WHITE CORUNDUM) – Venus (naram-vajra-mani)

GREEN CORUNDUM – Mercury (uparatna)

4. Do the rates of Gemstones vary as per their quality?

---ABSOLUTELY, and there are many considerations, e.g., Color, Clarity,

Carat weight, and rarity v/s demand. A Jyotish quality gem

automatically means the top quality. Free of defects. And they

certainly cost MORE than the common bluff and junk stones. A flawless

gem is a miracle of Bhagavan in prakriti.

5. Can you suggest any good authentic book on Gemstones and their use

in Astrological remedy, so that I can know more about their usage and

properties.

---Yes, please read the text of my book at

http://www.agt-gems.com/Book/Contents1.html <---GDV of AMag called this

“A complete guide on gems in astrology”, in a 1995 review in AM.

Please let me know if you have any other points. I’m honoured to serve

you.

Best wishes!!!

Y/s,

Richard

dear brother richard

i fully support and endorse your views on jyotish quaity gems.

1. based on my scriputral knowledge and understanding, gems are used

to get the positive results of the particular planet and hence a

stone that enhances the benefic results of a benefic planet must be

worn i.e. gem as per anukul vad.

2. only 100% flawless gems must be worn which are very expensive.

however, since it is to be worn for the full lifetime it is worth

investing in a genuine gem supplied by trustworthy dealers like

richard.

3. imitations and colour stones resembling gems are sold in the most

jewellery shops across india and some are even giving their own

guarantee certificates which is fraud. buy any one such gem and

visit the jaipur wholesale stone market and you would find the same

gem (stone) sold per weight lying in a heap just like grains at dirt

cheap prices. if you buy a kilo of such gems, the seller give a

handful of stones freely. from this you can understand the quality

of those colour stones.

4. for all those not so rich people who cannot afford expensive gems,

i recommend them to use energised genuine rudraksha which is

affordable.

with best wishes and blessings

Dear Pandit Arjun,

Namaste!!! You have such an nice name. Yes, the Planetary Gemology

must be good stones for good planets... so simple. Yet people are

being misled on choice as well as quality. So in the precious gems

Planetary Gemology is for Rich people, like a Lakshmi Shank.

Yet, by the arrangement of sarva-karana-karanam Ishwar, there are so

many cheaper uparatnas that are affordable, and no excuse for bad quality.

For choosing we must consult with a learned Anukulvadin Pandit, such

as you, and then get only fine quality precious or uparatna according

to means means from dignified supplier of Jyotish quality gems.

Also for Rudraksha, they a many times MORE POWERFUL than any gem

simply because they are the blessing and shakti of Ashutosh Mahadeva,

who is many times more powerful than ALL the Grahadevas combined. Thus

affordable Rudraksha is always a better alternative if one has to choose.

Best wishes,

Richard
