Guest guest
Vadanti-tat-tattvavidas-tattvam yaj jnanam advaiyam/ brahmeti paramatmeti bhagavaniti shabdyate// IT IS SAID BY THE KNOWERS THAT TRUTH IS ONE KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT SECOND/ AND IS CALLED BRAHMAN, PARAMATMA & BHAGAVAN // RSB Note: This implies that nirakar-brahman CAN be achieved (by advaitavadins like Shankaracharya), and Supersoul CAN be realized (by Astanga Yogins like Patanjali), and as God Himself - in Vaikunta - He CAN be known (by bhakti-yogins like Hanuman). I'm sorry I forgot where this sloka comes from, I think Srimad Bhagavad, and excuse any spelling mistakes as it's written from memory. I think it's a very useful sloka. That why I remember it after over 33 years. BTW: Does anyone know the difference between brahmajyoti (of Shankaracharya) and nirvana (of Lord Buddha)? I do! Guest guest
In my limited understanding the difference between the Nirvana of the Buddhists and the impersonal Brahman of the Vedantist is this: Nirvana = Voidism with no belief in a supreme Godhead; while Impersonal Brahman = Impersonal attributeless Nirakara Deity wherein their is indeed a belief in a Supreme Godhead.
