The pilgrims areflooding daily to Sabarimala, the abode of universalbrotherhood and equality.With their hearts surging with devotion, the pilgrimsin groups, wearing blue or black clothes, and carryingon their head the irumudikkettu, the package ofofferings and provisions, used to trek long distancein groups to reach the shrine of Lord Ayyappa. Theroutes covered small towns, villages and longstretches of mountainious terrain, of dense forestsinhabited by wild animals. The latest estimate of their number is around 50millions. The number is steadily increasing everyyear. The pilgrims from various parts of the country ontheir way to Sabarimala are suffering a lot due to thelack of basic amenities and facilities. SabarimalaAyyappa Seva Samajam, a voluntary Charitable Trustdevoted for the welfare and well being of Ayyappadevotees is extending all facilities to devotees ontheir way from different states to Sabarimala. In bus stands, railway stations, road junctions,public places and temple premises, the Samajam hasopened Ayyappa Seva Kendras so and to provide maximumfacilities to devotees such as Annadanam (feedings)drinking water, information and medical aid. Lord Ayyappa is otherwise known as Annadana Prabhuand hence distributing food to devotees is supposed tobe an act of benevolence and more an act ofAyyappaseva.Hundreds of volunteers are engaged in distributingfood, drinking water etc., round the clock to save andserve Ayyappa devotiees.We are very glad to inform you that a service centeris functioning at Perunad, boundary of Sabarimalapoonkavanam on the bank of the holy river Pampa, wherewe are supplying annam (food) as a traditional custom'Pampa Sadya' to all devotees who are coming toSabarimala for Ayyappa Darsan.
