Guest guest Posted April 9, 2010 Report Share Posted April 9, 2010 dear blessed ones, blessed love, i was in MAHAKUMBHA-HARIDWAR ..2010.to celebrate my 60th birthday by performing RUDRABHISHEK, RUDRA-YAGNA. .with my well-wishers, devotees & disciples.countless spiritual organizations, seers, saints, sannyasis, sages, renunciates, hermits from various lineage, traditions were present there . there was a big competetion to exhibit their GLAMOUR & SPLENDOUR AND MONEY POWER..i was just wondering if these crores of rupees instead of being wasted in show- offs could be utilized to build a hospital of modern standard and modern amenities it could be more beneficial for common haridwaris staying there.on the name of religion why we have to create a BOLLYWOOD OF SPIRITUAL GLAMOUR? do we want to show the world how poweful our sadhus are? how glamourous they live..the true religion can not survive unless it caters the need of humanity.instead of preaching others i wish these powerful mahants, madaleshwars could realize their role for upliftment of society. in the service of humanity & godliness, with blessed love, swami maa , india Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest guest Posted April 10, 2010 Report Share Posted April 10, 2010 dear blesseed one, blessed love, thanks for ur warm note.i was in haridwar and really felt pity that for poor sadhus, sannyasis there is no good hospital for treatment of heart problems, brain strokes or any serious disease.and they have to go jolly grant two - hours drive for small medical facilities. some of them can not afford and just die un-attended..and these so- called sadhus, yogis talking big --big things on the name of religion , spirituality.it is really shameful. i am ashamed because i am also a sannyasin. but apart from spirituality, my focus is on humanity & human values.hope to hear from u more. let us take this issue seriously for the sake of assisting many helpless ones.rest in next. take care, in the service of godliness, with blessed love, shree swami maa , india --- On Fri, 9/4/10, sashi kala <drsashii wrote: sashi kala <drsashii Re: is it fair ? Guest guest Posted April 10, 2010 Report Share Posted April 10, 2010 Sir, I agree that there is some show-off and glamour attendant with every Mela (or for that matter various seminars as well) And of course all Sadhus cannot be taken to be genuine or real Sannyasis true to the word. On top of it there is also considerable media glare and hype. Still, many many Sadhus throng these Magh Melas due to time-honoured religious custom and so do many house holders and in good faith and for ages, before you and were all born. Why should we not respect that sentiment? This is India and these Melas are part of our culture. Regards. S.C.
