Dear VS,

I had narrated last email some aspects of Kethu,Rahu,Kuja and Subramanya Swamy.

Let me start my narration now on the relationship of Rahu,Kethu and Subramanya Swamy.

But before that---What is the relationship between Subramanya and Dattatreya?

A Sishya and Guru relationship! Whatelse?

Lord Dattatreya is the Guru of SkandaGurunatha.

If you notice keenly both are Guru aspects.Lord Dattatreya received many a initiation from Lord Shiva and thus Lord Shiva is His Guru.Lord Skanda is said to have imparted the Pranava Rahasya to Lord Shiva and thus is the Guru of Lord Shiva and Lord Skanda received the divine knowledge of Avadhuta-Tatwa(via Avadhutha Geetha) from Lord Datta and thus is His disciple! So the Guru-shishya-knot gets confusing here as to who is the Guru, who the Parama Guru and the Paramesthi Guru is!

Confusion nevertheless, What must be understood is that Subramanya is an Avadhutha Guru in His own right.Staying with two shakthis, adorned with gems and glory, being the son of the great Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathy, etc does not make a dint in His Avadhutha Tatwam. His 'Aandi rupam' in Pazhani is a 'Nidarshanam'(miraculous proof) for the same.

Thus worship of Lord Subramanya and Lord Dattatreya on the same platform confers the following benefits:

1. Understanding and imbibing the virtues of saintly and simple life.

2. Absorbing the essence of Guru-Shishya parampara

3. Humility--(Each time I think Im someone 'special' spiritually, I seem to get an invariable WHACK on my head, thanks to these Lords)

4. Protection from Rahu-kethu and Kuja Grahas

5. Augmentation of Jupiter Graha.('Shaniyai pol kedupaarillai Aayinum Guruvaipol Kouduppaar Illai'--No one 'spoils' like Lord Shani, yet no one is capable of giving like Lord Jupiter. In this context, I would like to quote oneoften misquoted Tamizh proverb---"Adi Udavuvadhupol Annan Thambi Udhavamaattaargal''---"Brothers won't help asmuchas strict behaviour by 'beating'(to literally translate)"---Here 'Adi' is taken to mean "Beating".However, here one must understand that 'Adi' means 'Guruvin Thiruvadi'(Guru's Shreepadam)--Guru+Thiru+Adi.Thus obeisance to one's Guru is more beneficial in tmes of need(like this economic downturn period) than seeking help from one's brothers is the import and not a convinient excuse to beat people. Please convey this to your brother S.u. who was using this proverb to beat up his friends.)

6. Respect for Avadhutha marga.

A bit of digression here, lest I forget the flow of my thoughts which now is seeping into me as I type these lines for you(and my group members)

Avadhuthas are quixotic by nature and thus ordinary humanbeings cannot understand them. One notable example in this legion which immidiately comes in my mind is Prabhakara Siddha Yogi of Kerala. He had perfected the art of Parashareera Pravesham(Also popularly called 'Parakaya Pravesham') and thus His age is not known to anyone. He had exchanged many 'bodies').

'Avadhutha' means a person who has transcended the body-consiousness in the 'Sahaja' sthithi. And thus they are beyond the rules and customes set by common people.

Many people ignorantly seing these Avadhuthas think that such states can be arrogated onto themselves and thus they can be lustful, abusive, etc and yet obtain a Union with God.That is mere stupidity.

Avadhuthas have already attained God-realization and constantly stay in that. They care for no one and spend their lives enjoying supreme bliss of union with absolute consciousness, which is their own REAL SELF.

Such people may be taken for madmen or ghouls, or their behaviour maybe likened to that of an idiot or a child. But their actions have mystical significance.

In ancient scriptures, there are many stories of such Avadhutas, Jadabharatha and Dattatreya being the most well-known and prominent. In order to keep the public away from them, they gave appearance of being unclutured brutes and dullards, though really established in God.

This Prabhakara Siddha Yogi fit this description perfectly.

One afternoon I tried to test Him and began calling Him names and loudly in my mind during meditation.(The dullard and fool that I was!)

He came down in his physical form in my apartment bedroom with such anger and burning eyes and saw me and said, "What do you want???????????" His eyes were peircing me.

I replied back, "Your darshan and this has happened now...IM BLESSED IM BLESSED AYYAAA AYYAAAA AYYAAAAA". I cried out aloud.

He was silent for sometime looked at me as if to gauge my intentions His features softened a bit and then smiled a bit and He said, "Ok don't call me from now on.I dont come like this for anyone.Im with you, carry on."

My parents who were in the next room came running to my room and asked me what the matter was and I said ..."Aaah some dream..."

Now this Yogi had been known in certain area in Kerala for more than hundred years. The village elders swear that he is much older than what His age seemed to be(running into 3500 years or so as they claim).

{{Prabhakara Yogi(This was the form which blessed me with an 'angry' vision right in my Chennai apartment)}}

Prabhakara Siddha Yogi enjoyed living as an avadhuta on this earth and did not want to waste time between births or in growing up after each birth, and when one body became old and weak, he would just leave it, entering into another "ready-made'' one!! So he chose unattended dead bodies of low-caste people.(Blessed are such 'bodies' is all I can say).No one knew His original form.

One more thing not many people know. This Avadhutha had a bad reputation for troubling women!Stripping off his clothes, he would run and try to catch them with his hand and hug them, regardless of the consequences.People would beat him up, throw Him out of the villages, etc. No one knew why He used to do like that.

Once when he was criticized by one "spiritual" man for this.He said, "SHUTUP!!! Do you know what Im doing? Can you take awya the sins of that woman for 300 births? You cannot do it for even 300 seconds and you will letch her while reading Narayaneeyam. What do I care for earthly pleasures and ladies? At all times Iam surrounded by a bevy of celestial damsels worshipping me!! Isit my fault if you cannot see them?"

One day he said to his followers(very few), "Im feeling a little bit of ego in this body.I think I ought to do something to get rid of it."

He then went to a nearby village, inquired where the Superintendent of Police lived, and went to his house. After knocking on the front door, he stood there waiting. Finally, the wife of the Policeman came to the door. The avadhuta immediately caught her in a bear hug!!!

Ofcourse, this did not go over very well with her husband, who took hold of him and beat him up to his heart's content. He then locked him up and had one of his arms broken.(You know how 'gentle' our Police people are with culprits in the lockup right?)The Yogi was bleeding profusely with both 'ul' and 'veli' kayams(Internal and external injuries) and his arm was swollen.

Mysteriously, the yogi disappeared from the jail the next day and was found in another place, sound in all limbs.Because of such conduct, whenever he entered a village, the women locked themselves behind closed doors and the menfolk used to beat him, throw stones at him or chase Him away from the small hamlets.

If someone wonders why a Yogi should act in this manner, I can say only Yogis in His state would know.

All I can say is that He is not identified with the body and it totally detached from this world. His viewpoint is quite inconceivable for us who are still asleep in this dream of illusion.

However, when Avadhuthas are happy with real devotion, they can do anything.

I can quote from our family experience itself with one Avadhutha(who was responsible for my birth. My mother(Your Attha) lost Kedar(her youngest son at age 13,you know that) and thus was distraught and lost belief in everything. She did some puja without any belief thereafter and always heaved and sighed that her son was dead. She went to this Avadhutha Guru of my father, Swaprakashananda, and said "Of no use is your Datta.Of no use are your mantras. If everything is deigned by fate what then is the use of worship? Athiests and agnostic people seem to be happy, whereas me who went out of the way to wroship,do puja, chant mantras unceasingly to the extent of making it an Ajapa have been given this 'gift' of 'putrashokam'. Your prasadam was of no use(Ironically, His chandana-prasadam to save my elder brother had come one day after his death which further shocked my mother to

disbelief).

He listened to her wailing silently and let her calm down and said, "I cannot change too much of a fate, though I tried to even at the cost of my life.Be glad that your Kedar went into coma chanting the name of Lord Shiva with rudraksha mala in his hand and a vibhuthi packet in his other hand.(He actually died like that). He would have no rebirth and is now in Kailasham whether you believe or not.I will bring you another child from Ambaloka for you.Don't worry."

My mother sighed,"At this age after menopause?...hahaha!".She started laughing hysterically(maybe the pain in her heart came out like that...

He waited for her to calm down and then said, "I have a puja upon a shaligrama mahameru and Devi when doing aarathi showed me a child in Her arms(me!) and asked me to give you.I will now do the Lalitha Sahasranama and Saundarya Lahiri(one secretive yantra procedure) and then give you and husband a Navaneetham(butter), eat that and the Pinda will be formed in your garbha and you will concieve a naughty child(hmm, he knew my nature even before my birth!) who would also be spiritual.HAVE FAITH! Dattudu anni chooskuntaadu,Parameshwari tana biddanu choosukuntundhi"

She said, "Ok we will wait and watch"

Swaprakshananda Avadhutha who was my father's Guru.Fondly referred to as Guruvugaaru. He attained samadhi on Guru pournami July 2002

She never believed His 'cock-and-bull story' and thought it well neigh impossible to conceive a child at that age(50 years) after menopause that too.Nevertheless upon my father's entreaties she started to consume for 12 pournamis the Tantreeka Srividya prasadam which He gave and then I was conceived by her.

She was surprised and it re-instilled her faith in Divine mother all the more. She started to recite Lalitha Sahasranama,Khadgamala, saundarya lahiri every day when I was in the womb. And then partake only the prasadam.

Then the 'naughty kid' was born--Myself!

I know by proffering you the bait of Rahu-Kethu-Kuja in which you were originally interested, Im telling you all these stories!

Btw, Ammachi came to Chennai yesterday and the day before.I did not know She was in town(me being in my own world).Somehow on 21st 'accidentally' I had an old book--"Road to freedom'' by Swami Paramatmananda, Her disciple.I started reading it and finished it at around 9 PM, then as I kept the book down.I began to hear Her saying in my ears, "Vaaa Mone' ...Vaa Mone'"('Mone' in Malayalam means child). The voice was very affectionte and loving.

I thought maybe too much fo reading about Her made th neurons in my brain fire randomly and made me feel that way.Every experience and everything I see I try to analyze endlessly to sift out hallucinations.

But I thought after taking my supper at around 9:20 PM. Let me get a photo of Her's(I had misplaced one photo of Hers I had in my home) before the station road shop closes by 9:45.

So, I prayed to Divine mother and Ammachi to keep the shop open so that I can buy Her picture. As I was hurrying, literally running, I came across near Ayodhya Mandapam a huge banner proclaiming that "Ammachi is in Chennai 21 and 22nd January"

(Normally I just take a cut near Jaishankar street to the laminated photo shop in Station road but something made me 'miss' taking the diversion)

I stopped aghast near the banner. Saw to that instant that it was all Her leela. Then thought as I crossed the road silently and read the banner, "Ok I will see Her on 22nd now that it is late and the timings say it is 7 pm, so maybe Darshan is over."

I was wrong....a Malayalai autodriver whom never saw in the area started speaking with me in Tamizh with a heavy Malayalam accent.I said, "We will speak in Malayalam"

He said, "Do you want me to take you there? I will charge you just Rs.50."

I said, "But the darshan timings say 7pm"

He said, "Endhaa saree'!! Don't you know She gives darshan all throughout the night?"

I then remembered my past experiences with Her and then said, "Oh yeah!"

I was wearing a shorts so I told him to drive the auto to my home and then I changed myself into a crisp and starched white full hands shirt and spotless white dhoti.

When I went there, there seemed to be an ocean of crowd and in the stage She, the ocean of bliss, was hugging everyone.Bhajans were just over.

I went in and found it an uphill task to get a token to stand in the queue to see Her.

I then saw Her from near and mentally told Her, "Your Mone' has come, I need to hug you Amma..."

She was busy hugging all devotees.

Then I came back and suddenly one man gave me a token numbered X1

I then came to realize that X1 batch meant I had to stay till next day 3 AM(ie Jan 22nd), such was the crowd and that instant C1 was being sent.

C1 ...C2...C3...Till C5 then D1..D2...D3...Hmmm this seemed like an endless affair.

I looked pained at Her again. My sleep had been improper for past few days on account of one Tantreeka sadhana I was doing late nights.

I said, "Amma Im a lowly person Amma I cannot stand like this eternally Amma Please forgive my impatice Amma I need to run back to do some japa Amma..."

Some sort of a telegrahical meditation addressed to Her.She seemed to get it and suddenly out the blue someone came and gave me a numbered ticket much before X1.

I was satisfied, and in an hour or so, She hugged me and said, "BANGAARU THANDRI BANGAARU THANDRIIII..."

I thought I would cry like some do but lo behold, SHE WAS CRYING!!!

I was taken aback! Some volunteers(two Caucausians) were looking at me curiously as if I was some animal from zoo.

I felt blessed and happy, nevertheless.

I went on 22nd too and similar exprience happened with the tokens! This time She said despite the volunteers telling that my mothertounge was Telugu, "EnteCHELLA Mone'.....EnteSakkare'...EnteMutthe'..".many times and then "bangaru thandri" dozen times rubbing my spine all the while...

One small note: While standing in the queue the first day, the volunteers asked me my mother toungue, I answered, "Telugu". While hugging, I was aware that the volunteers said to Ammachi "Telugu" and then She said, "Bangaaru Thandri...Bangaaru Thandri..."(Not that She does not know, its all her maya(stunt to fool people about Her divinity))

But in anycase, Next day I wanted to tell my mothertoungue as Malayalam, playfullyto the volunteers(naughty brat that Iam) and see what they would tell Ammachi and What She would say....But last minute thought, "why lie even playfully before a saint?"*(this thought too being given by Ammachi's aura!) and then told again, "Telugu" But was pleaseantly surprised when She told, "Ente'ChellaMone'...Ente'Sakkare'...EnteMutthe''..."Then she looked at me with a feigned surprise and smiling face.I smiled back at her chuckling and then gave her the flowers and book to be blessed and she accepted that and again hugged me this time telling "Bangaaru tandri...Bangaaru tandri...."many times...Hmm.. hard to please a naughty brat like me isn't it?}

This time also the hugging took more time but She did not cry this time.I felt like crying a bit on her shoulders but the feeling disappeared(I feel She had a hand in making the feeling appear and disappear).I enjoyed every moment of the 'sparsha' with the saint.

I then took leave of Her mentally and then took a return auto for a reasonable rate and came home.

Never ever think you are great whatever upasana you might be doing, VS.The moment someone thinks "Ah, Im something", He or She is the farthest from God.The more one is humble the more God seeps into His or Her consciousness.

Some Brahmin Upasakas I know feel it beneath their dignity to see this 'Fisherwoman saint' of darkskin, considering their Knowledge and Upasana to be of a higher order. There would be ego in everyone, including me, I accept this but this should be kept low before saintly people and people who surround you.A day will come when this ego will vanish too and one would merge with the infinite.Till then the bit of an ego is required to sustain in this world. However, this is not be the excuse for arrogant behaviour.

"Once a seed becomes a big tree with an abundance of fruit, it doesn't have to declareto the world, 'Look everyone, look at me. I am a beautiful tree, laden with fruit. Come, people, come! Rest in the shade of my limbs! Enjoy the cool breeze that filters through my leaves! Enjoy my delicious fruit!' Even without any kind of announcement, people will flock to the tree to enjoy its fruit, its shade, and the breeze. But first, like the seed coming out of its shell, you must come out of the hard shell of the ego.

Just as the seed bows low beneath the soil in order to grow into a tree, so you, ifyou are to evolve into the Self, must bow low to all of existence in utter humility."

These are Ammachi's words.

Im blessed to have been suffused in Her love for the past two days. And who am I not even a drop in the ocean of Her infinite love.

(to be continued...)

Yours Yogically,

Dear Sir,

You can find the photo in the above site dedicated to the yogi.

No saint is " too high " for us.Saints love all and everything in this

world.Any saint whom you have access to meet, you must make a point

in meeting.

Who knows next birth, where I will be? Whether I will be so

spiritually inclined or an animal?...

SO this birth itself, I try to fall at the feet of all the

saints, touch them hug them....smething might rub off on me....even if

it is their feet dust, Im ok...Even the dirt, faeces, feet dust of

such saints is like ambrosia which wll save us from rounds of birth,

Sir.

This is my humble opinion. Please forgive me if I have spoken in

excess.

Periyor Maraiyorukku Samam

Maraiyor Deivathirkku Samam

Now, Periyor here means such saints of high calibre....not aged

people.

> Swaprakshananda Avadhutha who was my father's Guru.Fondly referred

to as Guruvugaaru. He attained samadhi on Guru pournami July 2002

>

> She never believed His 'cock-and-bull story' and thought it well

neigh impossible to conceive a child at that age(50 years) after

menopause that too.Nevertheless upon my father's entreaties she

started to consume for 12 pournamis the Tantreeka Srividya prasadam

which He gave and then I was conceived by her.

>

> She was surprised and it re-instilled her faith in Divine mother

all the more. She started to recite Lalitha Sahasranama, Khadgamala,

saundarya lahiri every day when I was in the womb. And then partake

only the prasadam.

>

> Then the 'naughty kid' was born--Myself!

were originally interested, Im telling you all these stories!

>

> Btw, Ammachi came to Chennai yesterday and the day before.I did not

know She was in town(me being in my own world).Somehow on

21st 'accidentally' I had an old book-- " Road to freedom'' by Swami

Paramatmananda, Her disciple.I started reading it and finished it at

around 9 PM, then as I kept the book down.I began to hear Her saying

in my ears, " Vaaa Mone' ...Vaa Mone' " ('Mone' in Malayalam means

child). The voice was very affectionte and loving.

>

> I thought maybe too much fo reading about Her made th neurons in my

brain fire randomly and made me feel that way.Every experience and

everything I see I try to analyze endlessly to sift out

hallucinations.

>

> But I thought after taking my supper at around 9:20 PM. Let me get

a photo of Her's(I had misplaced one photo of Hers I had in my home)

before the station road shop closes by 9:45.

>

> So, I prayed to Divine mother and Ammachi to keep the shop open so

that I can buy Her picture. As I was hurrying, literally running, I

came across near Ayodhya Mandapam a huge banner proclaiming

that " Ammachi is in Chennai 21 and 22nd January "

> (Normally I just take a cut near Jaishankar street to the laminated

photo shop in Station road but something made me 'miss' taking the

diversion)

>

> I stopped aghast near the banner. Saw to that instant that it was

all Her leela. Then thought as I crossed the road silently and read

the banner, " Ok I will see Her on 22nd now that it is late and the

timings say it is 7 pm, so maybe Darshan is over. "

>

> I was wrong....a Malayalai autodriver whom never saw in the area

started speaking with me in Tamizh with a heavy Malayalam accent.I

said, " We will speak in Malayalam "

>

> He said, " Do you want me to take you there? I will charge you just

Rs.50. "

>

> I said, " But the darshan timings say 7pm "

>

> He said, " Endhaa saree'!! Don't you know She gives darshan all

throughout the night? "

>

> I then remembered my past experiences with Her and then said, " Oh

yeah! "

>

> I was wearing a shorts so I told him to drive the auto to my home

and then I changed myself into a crisp and starched white full hands

shirt and spotless white dhoti.

>

> When I went there, there seemed to be an ocean of crowd and in the

stage She, the ocean of bliss, was hugging everyone.Bhajans were just

over.

>

> I went in and found it an uphill task to get a token to stand in

the queue to see Her.

>

> I then saw Her from near and mentally told Her, " Your Mone' has

come, I need to hug you Amma... "

>

> She was busy hugging all devotees.

>

> Then I came back and suddenly one man gave me a token numbered X1

>

> I then came to realize that X1 batch meant I had to stay till next

day 3 AM(ie Jan 22nd), such was the crowd and that instant C1 was

being sent.

>

> C1 ...C2...C3.. .Till C5 then D1..D2...D3. ..Hmmm this seemed like

an endless affair.

>

> I looked pained at Her again. My sleep had been improper for past

few days on account of one Tantreeka sadhana I was doing late nights.

>

> I said, " Amma Im a lowly person Amma I cannot stand like this

eternally Amma Please forgive my impatice Amma I need to run back to

do some japa Amma... "

>

> Some sort of a telegrahical meditation addressed to Her.She seemed

to get it and suddenly out the blue someone came and gave me a

numbered ticket much before X1.

>

> I was satisfied, and in an hour or so, She hugged me and

said, " BANGAARU THANDRI BANGAARU THANDRIIII.. . "

>

> I thought I would cry like some do but lo behold, SHE WAS CRYING!!!

>

> I was taken aback! Some volunteers(two Caucausians) were looking at

me curiously as if I was some animal from zoo.

>

> I felt blessed and happy, nevertheless.

>

> I went on 22nd too and similar exprience happened with the tokens!

This time She said despite the volunteers telling that my

mothertounge was Telugu, " EnteCHELLA Mone'.....EnteSakka

re'...EnteMutthe '.. " .many times and then " bangaru thandri " dozen

times rubbing my spine all the while...

>

> One small note: While standing in the queue the first day, the

volunteers asked me my mother toungue, I answered, " Telugu " . While

hugging, I was aware that the volunteers said to Ammachi " Telugu " and

then She said, " Bangaaru Thandri...Bangaaru Thandri... " ( Not that She

does not know, its all her maya(stunt to fool people about Her

divinity))

> But in anycase, Next day I wanted to tell my mothertoungue as

Malayalam, playfullyto the volunteers(naughty brat that Iam) and see

what they would tell Ammachi and What She would say....But last

minute thought, " why lie even playfully before a saint? " *(this

thought too being given by Ammachi's aura!) and then told

again, " Telugu " But was pleaseantly surprised when She

told, " Ente'ChellaMone' ...Ente'Sakkare' ...EnteMutthe' '... " Then she

looked at me with a feigned surprise and smiling face.I smiled back

at her chuckling and then gave her the flowers and book to be blessed

and she accepted that and again hugged me this time telling " Bangaaru

tandri...Bangaaru tandri.... " many times...Hmm. . hard to please a

naughty brat like me isn't it?}

>

> This time also the hugging took more time but She did not cry this

time.I felt like crying a bit on her shoulders but the feeling

disappeared( I feel She had a hand in making the feeling appear and

disappear).I enjoyed every moment of the 'sparsha' with the saint.

>

> I then took leave of Her mentally and then took a return auto for a

reasonable rate and came home.

>

> Never ever think you are great whatever upasana you might be doing,

VS.The moment someone thinks " Ah, Im something " , He or She is the

farthest from God.The more one is humble the more God seeps into His

or Her consciousness.

>

> Some Brahmin Upasakas I know feel it beneath their dignity to see

this 'Fisherwoman saint' of darkskin, considering their Knowledge and

Upasana to be of a higher order. There would be ego in everyone,

including me, I accept this but this should be kept low before

saintly people and people who surround you.A day will come when this

ego will vanish too and one would merge with the infinite.Till then

the bit of an ego is required to sustain in this world. However, this

is not be the excuse for arrogant behaviour.

> " Once a seed becomes a big tree with an abundance of fruit, it

doesn't have to declare

> to the world, 'Look everyone, look at me. I am a beautiful tree,

laden with fruit. Come,

> people, come! Rest in the shade of my limbs! Enjoy the cool breeze

that filters through my leaves! Enjoy my delicious fruit!' Even

without any kind of announcement, people will flock to the tree to

enjoy its fruit, its shade, and the breeze. But first, like the seed

coming out of its shell, you must come out of the hard shell of the

ego.

> Just as the seed bows low beneath the soil in order to grow into a

tree, so you, if

> you are to evolve into the Self, must bow low to all of existence

in utter humility. "

>

> These are Ammachi's words.

>

> Im blessed to have been suffused in Her love for the past two

days. And who am I not even a drop in the ocean of Her infinite love.
