Guest guest
Proposed service programs to Vedic learners and to Vridha Ashram I and some our friends living in the USA from the last 35 years are doing some pay back to the Universe whenever we visit India. Due to passage of our parents our visits to India are becoming less frequent. Subramanya Bharathula is doing a great service. That is very helpful for people like me. When ever we visit. A deaf and dumb school or to a old age home we find out there needs ,their and try to match them. Some of us do Anna danam and Vastra danam on occasions such as marriage anniversaries, birth days and on the days when our parents passed away. What was done before? Giving beds sheets, saris, simple things like soaps, buckets, Mugs and and some reading material. Buying some Rice grains, toor dal Etc (kandi pappu etc). Ceiling fans. Plastic chairs, mats (chapa), pillows etc.We asked the people who cook, found their needs and purchased necessary utensils. We did tell local (India) people " this is what we are doing " .Some local people came forward. Even here in USA many people got interested. Saying that it will appease the malefic planets, made many more peoples came forward (it is also true). This is not nor for beating our own drums, but bring it to other peoples attention. Doing Anna danam with rice cooked with TIL (sesame seeds), cooked wheat , will please Saturn and Surya planets. Fortunately subramanyam Bharathula offers the privilege of getting this service done at Markapur Sri Datta temple. Some of these funds came from Dasamsa vratha, as some give a small % of their income for charities. A friend of mine said " we are blessed, we are not disabled, we have a good career, we have enough money, and We are not starving. Let us share it with some other people in need. Some of the conditions in the old age homes, lack of funding for the Vedic schools is really dis heartening. Some of friends have specific Interests. That is not a problem. Like my good friend when she visited India could not find a Toilet when needed, built several toilets at public places for women. Like my friend who visited the cremation place (smashan) where his father was cremated found pigs and dogs roaming in that .Place (He could not reach in time) got the place cleaned up and funded platforms for cremation. I think frequent postings of what is being done, will stimulate more people to come forward. Regards
